Just a few quick things. . .
1) I'm finally finishing my article on what El Nino is and what causes it to occur. This article has actually been somewhat of a challenge to write because I'm trying to make it very easy to understand, yet I don't want to leave out any important details. I'm going to include a video with the article, which I'm going to be making sometime tomorrow. Along with the article and video, I'm going to provide links for those that are interested in doing further research on El Nino. After all of that, you all should have a solid understanding of El Nino.
2) There is an article that has been circulating on the internet over the past few days warning the public to stay away from weather sites such as Firsthand Weather. I am going to write a response to that article, explaining that by keeping our focus on putting out accurate and quality forecasts and finding the best way to get those forecasts out to the public has lead Firsthand Weather down a successful road thus far. On the other hand, I will be addressing the issue of amateur sites putting out unrealistic forecasts, but why we shouldn't be too concerned about them as long as our focus stays on growing our own organizations. The author of the article was probably well-intentioned, but this gives me a good opportunity to address an important issue. This will be posted publicly on the site, so everyone will be able to read it! -Matthew
