Are your pants glowing?

Last Friday's Marketplace episode Show Me The Money had it all: hidden cameras, bad (very bad) investment advice, and scandalized consumers. But while it's good for average Canadian investors to be aware of the kind of bad advice that's out there and to know the minimum standards you should expect from your financial advisor, this episode is good for something else: the banks.

Join me, +Robb Engen, +Jackson Middleton, and our special guest +Preet Banerjee for tonight's Because Money episode There are no bad apples, just bad barrels at 9:30EST. As always, tweet you opinions, questions, and wisecracks using the hashtag #becausemoney .

First Foundation has been great to work with both when Gord helped me get my first mortgage and recently when Darren helped me with my renewal. Darren was great explaining my options in a clear and understandable way. Not only did he make me feel comfortable with my decision, but he found me a better rate than was first available. Thanks!

I have worked with Jackson here in Regina for the past few years and always experienced fantastic service. Since he joined the First Foundation team the experience has been even better. The FF team is an incredible resource and are on my list of TOP mortgage brokers to send a client to. Courteous and professional you wont go wrong with them.

This is the second mortgage I've done with First Foundation and have been nothing but impressed with both experiences. We recently renovated our home over eight months so the funding was tougher to nail down and the payouts were made through a draw over that time period as opposed to just a lump sum. Darren went to bat for us to get the funding, monitor the draws and ensured we got into the right mortgage in the end. He stayed on top of each step in the process and operated in our best interest over the entire deal. Great work Darren - if I would have listed my expectations at the start they wouldn't have covered near what you did for us. You went above and beyond. Thank you.

We have been dealing with Gord and First Foundation for almost 10 years now and have always received excellent service. We just recently built a house which required re-financing and draw financing. The process was a bit complicated but Darren was absolutely fantastic and explained everything thoroughly throughout the entire process. We highly recommend the team at First Foundation without hesitation. Rhonda and Mike
