The programme also includes sessions to support teachers to develop their Learning Site for 2019. All Manaiakalani people are welcome, specifically teachers who are planning for learning with students who are 1:1. The Manaiakalani Innovation Team will be supporting teachers to design and create using the new version of Google sites. We also welcome back people and teaching teams who are free to follow their own kaupapa, in a collegial space and connect and access support when and if needed.

The Manaiakalani Innovation team is seeking an experienced teacher to join our team as a PLD Facilitator for the 2019 school year. This is a new role and will focus on supporting teachers and schools in the Manaiakalani Kahui Ako.

We require an experienced and credible educator with a sound understanding of effective teaching and learning practice and enabling digital technologies. The successful applicant will work as part of a highly collaborative innovation team building teacher skills and knowledge. Facilitation will be in the context of the New Zealand curriculum and include the implementation of the Manaiakalani Programme including the Learn Create Share pedagogy, visible teaching and learning, and the Manaiakalani CyberSmart curriculum. Manaiakalani’s coherent PLD programme, backed by research and development, will provide a positive and supportive environment. The successful applicant will be an expert teaching practitioner with a good working knowledge of raising achievement by linking evidence to practice. They will be supported to develop good working relationships with education researchers, ed-tech providers, principals and staff and will be supported to become Ministry-accredited as a PLD facilitator.

The Manaiakalani Education Trust offers an employment package in keeping with equivalent PLD facilitation and school leadership roles. Remuneration will take into account skills and experience. Appointment will be for a fixed term for the 2019 school year with potential for extension. Start date for the role is January 21 2019.

Apply with CV and covering email to Jenny Oxley, Chief Executive, Manaiakalani Education Trust, Auckland. jenny.oxley@manaiakalani.org.
