I'm teaching this PhD course in May and June, targeting industrial design students and humanities students alike! We welcome applicants from other universities.

I guess I should post this roundtable review of my book here on g+ as well. Quite interesting reading - four reviews, of which three were positive and one was rather negative. Read the reviews and my response to find out more!

Vet ikke, jeg syntes det ble veldig rotete. Men så bruker jeg da ikke g+ særlig aktivt - det faller litt mellom stolene for min del. Facebook til venner og familie (stort sett) og Twitter til profesjonell diskusjon.

Yup, I did mention it for the US side, at least. The deposit is still the same as it was in the 1970s. In Norway the deposit has been raised a number of times. I don't think bottle returns were any more lucrative when we grew up, it was more a question of us having lower goals. Bottles translated directly into cheap candy - Hubba Bubba, Fox, and whatnot! But perhaps the prices (and the salaries!) have increased much more than the bottle deposit the last ten years, Norway has gone somewhat crazy. The big point in Norway is that we never got out of the habit of recycling, but the US did in most places.

Nice post by Rob Nixon on re-reading Rachel Carson, 50 years after the publication of Silent Spring.
