Free Kindle Story: Christmas at Erskine: Grey and Scarlet Short Story is free on Amazon until Friday to download on a number of devices.

You can also claim £1.00 credit to spend on movies or TV on Amazon Video when you download it.

Christmas at Erskine has received 5 star reviews:

“Chris writes in such a way that you can really envisage the scenes he creates on paper.”

“A lovely story. Scott is continuing his journey to recovery and his journey to helping lost souls. Extremely clever writing by the Author. Really enjoying reading and can't wait until the next book.”

“Absolutely brilliant short story. Well done and can’t wait for the next book.”

This short Christmas story of a Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps nurse is set at Erskine nursing home in Edinburgh. Scott Grey attends a QARANC Association coffee morning and meets one of the residents.

It is written as a thank you to readers for their support for my first novel, The Grey Lady Ghost of the Cambridge Military Hospital. The events take place several weeks after this book and before The Drummer Boy: book two in the Grey and Scarlet series of novels.

As with all my books it features QA history along with past events from the Gordon Highlanders and is set in Scotland.

My novels deal with the emotions post armed conflict and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the struggle soldiers have with memories of past events in violent wars, peace keeping missions or humanitarian missions.

If you have an interest in military, ghosts, war or nursing then the books of CG Buswell will be of interest.

They are part written in The Doric, the dialect of the North East of Scotland. But don't worry; explanations of the words and phrases are provided.

Readers can enjoy a brief tour of the veterans’ charity Erskine who have cared for veterans and their spouses since 1916. Christmas in Erskine is set in their wonderful Edinburgh nursing home. If you enjoy this read please consider a donation to help them in their important work.
