In the last video of The Field Journey blog series, Adam talks about how Field has embraced technology as a way to conserve our culture as we continue to expand. Vendor managed inventory (VMI) is a practice in which a supplier takes full responsibility for managing a buyer’s inventory at that buyer’s location. With the right tools it is easier for a supplier to effectively manage inventory than for buyers to try and manage hundreds or thousands of part numbers on their own. Download our 'What Is VMI' white paper below or click here to go the Field website to read more about it: https://lnkd.in/ecWBiP9
Field has a strong commitment to give back to the Rockford community. For the Field team it's not simply about sending a check, it's about getting out there in the community and volunteering to make a difference. This summer nearly every team member at Field is volunteering their time and resources to help build a home for a family in need, through Habitat for Humanity. This home is the first build sponsored by Field, though many team members have volunteered with Habitat in the past. http://fieldfastener.com/2015/05/18/field-partners-with-habitat-for-humanity/
In video 8 of our series, Adam continues to discuss what the future may hold for Field. He takes a deeper dive into Field's engineering services and the different ways engineering will continue to support Field's value proposition. Adam talks about why he see's VMI moving to more POU type systems and using lean processes and value stream mapping to get the most out of those systems. He also discusses the possibility of Field becoming WERC certified and being a best in class distributor. To watch click here:
