Shaping the next generation of digital banking: G F T and Fidor form an innovation partnership.

Fidor and GFT Technologies SE have reinforced their cooperation and signed a strategic partnership agreement to focus on developing mobile financial and banking apps, as well as related sales and marketing.

It’s an initial step to shape the next generation of digital banking within a strong network. One main pillar will be GFT’s Digital Innovation Labs, where both parties will combine their expertise to develop ideas, innovations and prototypes. The team will employ agile development to make the prototypes market-ready, and the resulting products will be put on the market quickly as
possible. GFT and Fidor have already developed the new "O2 Banking" solution together, which will be Germany's first mobile-only, full-service bank account.

What companies make up the Fidor Group?

* Fidor Bank
* Fidor AG
* Fidor Factory

Fidor Bank is a digital bank licensed in Germany and currently operating in Germany and the UK. The Fidor Smart Account and Fidor Savings Bonds were the initial offerings to personal customers in the UK, but we have now added Investment opportunities in conjunction with our partner Nutmeg.

The Bank’s slogan – "Banking with Friends" – refers to the important role that customers play within the Fidor Smart Community. The community connects customers with each other and provides the opportunity to ask money-related questions, provide and receive savings tips, evaluate financial services or providers or suggest new product developments. Via its Bonus Programme, Fidor UK rewards customers that actively engage as community members.

Fidor AG provides existing financial, retail and telecoms institutions and startup banks the chance to bring digital technology to the heart of their businesses. Fidor is at the forefront of digital innovation and financial technology, providing tailored, purpose-built products and services that enable its clients to offer a customer-focused digital experience.

Fidor Factory is an in-house digital customer service solution specialist and has been involved at all stages of Fidor Bank's growth, from its beginning in Munich in 2009 to the current roll-out of its offering to other countries.

You want to invest your money for a fixed-term and get a guaranteed fixed rate of interest? Then the Fidor Bank Savings Bonds is the right choice for you.
You want to invest your money for a fixed-term and get a guaranteed fixed rate of interest? Then the Fidor Bank Savings Bonds is the right choice for you. You determine the term and therefore the interest rate that you will receive. This is very simple with the Savings Bond Configurator tool. The longer the term, the higher the interest rate.

Fidor Group announced earlier this year its acquisition by Groupe BPCE , the second largest banking group in France, providing the support and sustainability of a well-established financial institution.

Matthias Kroener, CEO and founder of Fidor, commented: “This move will allow Fidor to continue its international expansion and drive the development of our innovative digital technology even further...In a world of increasing volatility, it is important to be member of a strong group and this transaction is strongly improving our overall financial sustainability."

For you as a Fidor UK customer, there will be no difference in the day-to-day interactions with the bank - account details remain the same and there will be no changes to fee structures or interest rates.
Groupe BPCE, the 2nd largest banking group in France pursues a full range of banking and insurance activities, working through Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne
