1/28/15 Last weekend was my first trip ever to the Ferry Building in SF. I've known it was here and heard lots of good things, but never actually made it inside before. Oh man, I have been missing out on some good stuff! My husband and I had a little time to kill and we were hungry so we walked into the Ferry Building and I was immediately surprised to see so many little shops. I guess I really didn't know what to expect inside. We first stopped for a cheese sandwich outside of Cowgirl Creamery, then grabbed a coffee at Peet's and finally strolled past several shops and restaurants before happening upon the SF Seafood company for clams. The building was packed! It was a beautiful day and there were lots of people in SF enjoying it. There was even a bride in her dress surrounded by bridesmaids and her crew inside. But none of the lines were very long and we seemed to walk around pretty fast. Can't wait to return.

The Ferry Building Marketplace is one of my favorite places to take out-of-towners on a Saturday morning. It's a great place to browse, grab a bite, and enjoy views of the bridge. I usually start at Blue Bottle for a great cup of coffee, then head outside to the food stands near the pier. The first stop is always Vicolo Pizza for some of their amazing organic cornmeal pizza crusts. Note that they only take cash, so come prepared ($4/2 crusts). Pick up some tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella, and you've got dinner in the bag— literally. Hayes Street Grill, right next to Vicolo Pizza, serves up hearty breakfast sandwiches to power up the rest of your shopping trip. My favorite breakfast place, however, is actually near the back of the food stands. I highly recommend heading to Primavera (don't let the long line deter you) for some of the best chilaquiles you'll find in the city. If that doesn't suit your fancy, Acme Bread Co. has some delicious fresh-baked breads and pastries to nosh on while you walk. I promise your day at the Ferry Building Marketplace will be well spent— relaxing, great food, and good views. Bring some friends and enjoy, or just make everyone jealous on Instagram.

Nice place to wait for the ferry. But there's always a line for the women's restroom and the men's restroom frequently has homeless people using the sinks to bathe.

I love this place! There's a great farmer's market on Saturday mornings, and there are so many great little shops which sell the most delicious cheese, fresh veggies, fruits, etc.! There's also so many great places inside the Ferry Building. There's Blue Bottle coffee, there's a great sandwich stop (Il Cano Russo), and there's a cheese shop right next to a bread shop so you can buy some cheese + bread to go! The Ferry Building is a must for any tourist, and I always bring my friends here! There's just so much to do here and there's so much to eat!

OMG talk about a kid in a candy store!!! This was the most amazing Market I have ever been to! Small batch chocolatiers, vegan donuts shops, mushroom mania with any type and priced mushroom you can imagine in this one booth. It made me so jealous we don't have anything like this in San Diego. OMG my eyes were opened to true places to shop and true farmer market style fruits and veggies. OMG I absolutely loved walking through here and could do it week after week after week. It was just so entertaining to see what the city has to offer. I was so jealous of how amazing this place was and could easily see myself spending a small fortune at a place like this!!

As many times as I've been here, I never seem to tire of the Ferry Building. I believe one of the reasons is that I get to hit up Blue Bottle for a latte or mocha, and a yummy waffle. Humphrey Slocombe is another favorite (two words: Secret Breakfast) as well as Miette (their shortbreads are to die for). The farmer's market on Saturdays is always a treat, and there is a plethora of restaurants and bars around. Definitely a foodie stop. Lots of photo ops as well.

Must go. Lots of lovely cafes and food shops in here. Great for a Sunday stroll. Sometimes there is an outdoor market too. Don't miss.

Beautiful setting and top notch vendors. Everything tends to be a tad pricey, but high quality. Treachoself!
