Amazing video about how automation is going to create an economic crisis by making lots human jobs obsolete, and we are not prepared for it.

Even if:
 - You think this happened before during the Industrial Revolution and it's not that bad;
 - You think automation makes the world super convenient;
 - You think your job is safe;
 - You are right about all of the above.
This may have bad consequences for you.

That is a very interesting article! As I was reading it, as I was reading it I thought:

"Hey! This seems plausible and a much less bleak scenario than what the video shows... Instead of 45% of the population losing their jobs, they will end up in 9-5 jobs they identify as meaningless themselves... which... kinda... makes it much harder for them to live a meaningful and fulfilling life... =/"

Er... I don't know... between living in a society where 45% is either jobless and angry, or stuck in meaningless jobs and depressed... There has to be a third option. =)

Apple executives had a lot of kind words for the products they announced this week.

And here they are, cobbled together by a +TWiT editor.

A personal accounting about your former beliefs is very admirable.

Scott Adams keeps his own list of things he no longer believes. As he describes it:
"A rational mind needs regular maintenance. One of the maintenance systems I employ is to remind myself of things I used to be sure about and later discovered to be untrue. I started a list organized by the approximate ages at which I realized my errors."

"Torcer para que tudo desabe e que os rivais coloquem o brasileiro em seu lugar – a suposta insignificância - não é sinal de rebeldia ou protesto. É tolice."

"Mas é bom que se diga: as críticas aos gastos com a Copa, não importa o quanto consumam do orçamento geral, são legítimas e ponto."

This is a long, but very interesting read. It has way too many interesting quotes for me to bother listing.

This goes well with another quote, though, that I just found out is wrongly attributed to Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Too many debates about important issues degenerate into manufactured and misplaced outrage—and it's chilling free speech.

Thank you, worth reading. My favorite quote: "The bottom line is, you don’t beat an idea by beating a person. You beat an idea by beating an idea."

Victoria's Fillet and Caesar Salad. The filet was awesome, cooked exactly as I wanted. The salada was probably the best Caesar Salad I've had, great seasoning strong on garlic and pepper.
