an update to this.  Devs seem very responsive.. received the following:

"Will there be a 'free' solution forever?" -
Yes, there will be always a free version, with some limitations such is current 2 minutes voice limit.

"How long are animations retained for and can I delete them once uploaded?" -
I cannot answer exactly now. We're still collecting information to make a decission about a method of monetization.
Currrently we do not delete sketches, but as the amount will grow on server, we will delete the oldest ones.
There will be probably some possibility to buy a premium account, so your sketches will remain on server as long as you're a premium user.
But this is just idea. We should first get enough information to see how users use Clarisketch and which business model can best fit to users needs.
Currently you cannot delete uploaded sketches, because there is no relation between sketch and author. It's anonymous, the sketch doesn't hold any info about an author.
I'm preparing a next version with possibility to login to Clarisketch by using google account. With the login will be possible to manage all your uploaded sketches on server, delete them, rename etc.
So the sketches will hold an author id.

"If I delete them on my phone are they deleted from your servers?" -
As I wrote in previous answer, currently not, because there is not relation to author. If you wish to delete a sketch, just send us a link and we'll remove the sketch.
I know that it's not ideal, but I'm working hard on solution, described in my previous answer. We're just on the beginning...

"Would we have an option to download the content generated for retention on our own servers?" -
Maybe this can be possible as well, if you login to server, there can be a possibility to download .clask files, for backup purposes etc.

"Would be nice if zooming was also included in the animations." -
Yes, I have a long tasklist of future features. The zoom animation is one of them. But I have to balance it well. I do not want to overengineer it, so Clarisketch will become a big, too complex software. I'd like to keep it simple and easy to use.
The clarisketch file is not a video, it's actually a small data file containing a vector data + sound + pictures. So I've a lot of possiblilties how to present the data during playing back, for example zoom automatically to smaller area during playing back on smaller devices etc.

yes.. a typically shrill strap line.  Will be interesting to see where else the series heads.  Playing with Brain Rush right now... could be quite useful in complementing vocabulary drilling.

Anyone experimented with any kind of file depositing solutions?  I need a way for students to deposit files to a server (Novell share / Google drive).  I thought this might be a solution but it it requires the domain admin to activate..

You're welcome - have you had a conversation with someone like Andrew Horne? I know that CiCS are overhauling how storage works on a wider scale, and such things as Novell storage might soon become a legacy concept anyway.

Now why did that take so long?  I paid for a third-party app using the same protocols a few years ago!

Quick question.  Can anyone advise what happens to content when a user leaves a community?  I'm interested in using G+ for a tech support community but I'm concerned that content/contributions will be lost if users leave the community or have their Google accounts deleted when they leave the company...

Yes they that is true of shared docs also. Hangouts are great for instant communication especially for groups.

If you find groups better than that may be a solution for you especially if you want to preserve the posts.

We've been trialling using the G+ record video feature for some student presentations.  Some students have reported the recording process as being a bit flaky and prone to stopping after a few minutes.  Anyone else seeing this at all?  Could be wi-fi drop out - but we've seen this on campus machines.  Possible Flash cache issues?

I'd like to think the guy has spent years perfecting the backward writing skill - only to be later told they could flip it ;-)

Looking into using G+ to implement a Tandem Language Learning community.  Anyone aware of a way of creating a 'public' community but open only to the UoS organisation? I.E. free for anyone in UoS to join but not requiring moderator approval?

Hi Paul, Not had any word back from them yet but it was only about 3 weeks ago so I'll enquire and see how they got on.

I had to ask the library if we had such a service because we used to have something similar at SHU and it took me a while to find the answer so I can't imagine that it's well advertised within the University.

Hi all

Has anyone had any need to make name appeals for G+ profiles affiliated with generic accounts?

We have a shared technical account (slc-tech) that we use as an 'owner' for certain Google docs, Youtube Channels and potentially G+ communities.

Using my real name for this (as they insist) has created problems with calendar invites.  Have adopted the moniker of Elvis Presley for the time being that they seem happy with... go figure...
