Unfortunately, picking a university, expecting quality education, it's a hit or miss thing. Awesome professors can come and go. Well-intentioned teachers have that problem of encouraging unmotivated students, so they have to slow down the pace for the slow-learners to catch up, and they have to, because everyone in the class is their responsibility.
Then again, motivating myself to train/work just from home doesn't work for me. I need a schedule, I need to see people busying around, I need to be in a system, I'll subvert it if I have to, but I need to be in one to feel like I'm in place... or else I'll just procrastinate. So I guess there's a middle-ground here somewhere.
