Randolph Duke was raised in Las Vegas, and attended The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. He began his fashion industry career in Los Angeles designing swimwear for Anne Cole of California. Branching out into sportswear, Duke launched his first line in 1987, complete with a eponymous retail store on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Later, as Design Director for retailer Henri Bendel, and as Creative Director for sportswear manufacturer Kenar, Duke provided his expertise in product image, marketing, and visual merchandising.

In 1996, Duke achieved recognition for his resurrection of HALSTON. Following his stint at Halston, duke launched Randolph Duke, a couture evening collection.

Interested in reaching a mass audience, Duke has built a successful business on the Home Shopping Network. His line on the network is known at "The Look", includes shoes and accessories.
