So sad to see that Vintage Hem has closed. We need another company just like it, to help extend the hems of too-short skirts. Here is a link to the old blog that is still online.

Enjoyed this ethereally beautiful video and the behind-the-scenes story of the modest gowns made for it by the 3 sisters of the 5 Browns music group.

Delighted to hear that the Miss World organization is eliminating the swimsuit portion of its competition. Will be interesting to see how long this lasts and whether or not Miss America and Miss Universe will follow the example. Funny article from a WWD fashion photographer's point of view about the December 2014 visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to New York City. Note that Barry Diller mentioned in the article is married to designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Don't understand the pushback against the Montana Legislature's dress code. I helped write the dress code and enforce it for students who visit during the legislative sessions at the state senate where I live, and it's similar. In public office, the dress code must be professional, and television and movies do not mirror what is worn in real life in these political environments. Yes, women's necklines and hemlines are the most frequent offenders in professional dress code enforcement.

Would you even want to publicly post a photo of the inside of your lingerie drawer? Lingerie has its place in private, and I'd appreciate it if companies like Victoria's Secret would advertise more discreetly. 2014 Has been a busy year for the editor of Fashion Belle, with little time for website work and a list of other projects that would take longer to list than I would like to spare space to write here. One dilemma lately has been how much to update social media sites. Facebook isn't my favorite, and Twitter is not as used as it once was. Your input is welcome.

Here is what happened to Jil Designs, the layering tee company. It was bought out, and stock is being liquidated here: http://stores.ebay.com/pinkstashonline//nddbc.html
