I have often said that if given the chance to take someone to only one spot in Los Angeles, I would take them to the Original Farmers Market. The Farmers Market gives you a picture of classic LA through the food stalls, which vary from the delicious (Bob's Donuts) to the mediocre (Italian offerings) to the downright disappointing. You see restaurants like Dupar's that have operated for decades (with possibly the best pancakes anywhere), and you can have a beer for six bucks. And then in contrast, you can walk a few hundred feet to the Grove. Both make for a great afternoon of relaxing.

One place I will 100% visit if I ever coming back to LA is this place. While you are here. Please buy greek frappe from a cafe behind the clock. Inside the market place, go and get the best donut! take a photo with them!

This place is nice despite the large number of tourists that flock to it. They have stalls with great fruit and vegetables and lots of cool shops to check out. The restaurants are awesome! They have so many to choose from. On the weekends it gets really really crowded but it's nice earlier in the day on week days.

good first of all for the atmosphere. you can choose among different kind of food. I recommend to there to eat and dance. only don't try the crêpes, they are terrible.

It is sort of weird to call it a farm market when so many of the buildings are permanent structures. It is basically a nice organic grocery attached to dozens of food stalls. The smells are amazing. We didn't get a chance to sample all the food but we did get a little. The grocery is well priced. They have a lot of seating throughout and actual washrooms located in the North part of the venue. There is a wall with the history of the market that is a pretty good read.

touristy and yet local. it's a nice combination. I really enjoy walking around and hitting up the classic local hot spots like the ice cream shop. if you come on price is right taping days you'll see many of the prospective contestants having breakfast here. parking is hard to come by, if you can find street parking (on the weekend), that would be best. note that there is plenty of UPSTAIRS seating areas, in case you come on a weekend.

A highlight to my 1st visit to LA! Food, coffee, souvenirs, and just the originality of the whole place.. I went to the Grove next door, spent only 15 mins and returned back to FM immediately afterwards; Originality wins!

Nothing really super impressive. Varietes of overprised street food, if you want quality, go somewhere else. Be carefull ordering at T&Y BAKERY, napoleon was totally FAKE, made with cheap tasteless cream, insetead of real napoleon cream.
