Don't miss out on the first Gamer Geekend. It's an online gaming convention that you can join and play for free.

We are less than a month away from The Gamer Geekend! We currently have 28 events scheduled on the convention calendar, and all are available for player/attendee registration.

Games are being run in Fantasy Grounds, as well as Roll20 with varying systems, such as Savage Worlds, D&D 5E, and Pathfinder. Board and Wargaming through Vassel is also being represented. Maybe you can try out a game type or VTT you haven't played in before.

This is our first venture into the virtual convention arena, and it would be great to have the support of our Society! Feel free to share the link and encourage others to sign up and connect with us.

The Gamer Geekend will run from September 17th through the 20th. You can check out the details and register at http://gamergeekend.org/

I just pushed out 12 new combat battlemaps to all subscribers and license holders of Fantasy Grounds. They can be found in the FG Battlemaps module that will download when you run an update. These maps include 1-3 separate tunnels that can be used with masking to represent tunnels in the underdark. We will probably include these directly in our version of the Out of the Abyss adventure module when it launches on September 15th as well. Here are three of the maps below.

Polygon talks a little about the growth of online gameplay for D&D and talks briefly about Smiteworks and Fantasy Grounds again as the licensed virtual tabletop for D&D.

When Polygon rolled into this year’s Gen Con in Indianapolis we couldn't find the Dungeons & Dragons booth. Turns out that the nation’s largest tabletop gaming convention — started by Gary Gygax, the...

This D&D adventure was originally written as a D&D Next play-test adventure. It has been updated to include the final version of the fifth edition stats and rules where possible and it runs on the 5E ruleset for Fantasy Grounds.

It is available on Steam and from the Fantasy Grounds website.

We just posted an update to the D&D Scourge of the Sword Coast module. Thanks TASAgent. See the update notes here:

v1.4 8/25/2015
1. Added Quick links and updated link naming to assist navigation
2. Added some extra links to the appendices
3. Minor adjustments in layout
4. Adjusted Skill check DCs to fit D&D 5e ranges:
25 -> 20
20 -> 15
15 -> 13
5. Changed "Intelligence (Search)" to "Wisdom (Perception)"
6. Added custom tokens for Jekk, Pencheska, Shalendra, and Duke Maldwyn
7. Added a missing item from a parcel (Bag of Holding)
8. Expanded the spell books descriptions to include spell links
9. Fixed identification state on all items (previously all items were flagged as identified)
10. Cleaned up the item record list to exclude most one-shot art objects

Unless you have already made custom edits to the module contents for your campaign, just do the following steps:
1. Run a Check for Updates
2. Open the Library | Modules inside your campaign
3. Close and Re-Open the module
4. Right-click on the Module Thumbnail and choose Revert () to restore it to the default module content

I'm not sure how I missed this, but check out this and many of the other awesome ships that +Mike Schley has on his feed. I really hope this means that he's been secretly working on a 5E update of Spelljammer and Wotc just hasn't told me yet. Having my favorite setting done for D&D fifth edition by the absolute best map maker in the industry would be a dream come true.

A #DnD #RPG  battle map showing Githyanki pirate ships locked in desperate battle? Yeah, we've got that now. Check it out and download the DM & player versions here - http://mikeschley.zenfolio.com/p68123451/h486ec677#h486ec677

These are excellent. And though I know they don't mean a 5E Spelljammer, I would love to see that!

All standard licenses have been temporarily upgraded to an Ultimate license for the day in support of FGDaze. We meant to do this earlier today but had a slight miscue and nobody ended up doing it until about 1 hour ago.

Story
Tagline
The perfect blend of automation and control for any RPG Game!
Introduction

Fantasy Grounds is a virtual tabletop to help facilitate play of tabletop-style role-playing games online with a GM (game master) and one or more players. It replicates what you would traditionally do around a physical table, such as rolling dice, managing character sheets, keeping campaign notes, sharing handouts and images, and moving tokens or figures around on a map.

Through the use of rulesets, Fantasy Grounds also supports automation that helps improve gameplay and removes some of the tedious aspects of playing an RPG, while still retaining that level of detail in the background.
