The Final Fantasy Adventure remake, under the name "Adventures of Mana", was released last night for iOS and Android!! :D

From what I'm hearing it's actually very good. What's not so good is the $13.99 US price tag.

A few things you should know:

- This is an exact 1:1 remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, all the way down to the positioning of terrain obstacles. If you’ve ever played FFA, this remake will feel very familiar, in contrast to the Game Boy Advance’s Sword of Mana, which was also presented as a remake of FFA but instead felt like a totally new game. (Adventures of Mana is much better.)

- It’s really good! It’d be better with buttons and a d-pad, but the touchpad controls are just fine, and the enhanced score is superb. It looks great, too.

- There are airships and chocobos and even crystals, in case you’re wondering why “Final Fantasy” was in the title. (The Mana series would grow into its own independent entity after Final Fantasy Adventure, starting with the SNES classic Secret of Mana, which was very inspired by its Game Boy predecessor.)

- If you’re gonna play, here’s one essential tip: Make sure you’re stocked on mattocks and keys at all times. Buy a couple of each item as soon as you get to the first store.

Story

Dedicated to select fantasy RPG video games, select anime, and other related areas of interest
Introduction
FantasyAnime was born in 1998 through my desire to spread the happiness that video games and anime have given me.

*FantasyAnime's Anime Galleries*
In the early years, FantasyAnime focused mostly on anime and housed several massive screen shot galleries. Particularly, FantasyAnime was known for its incredibly popular "Pokemon Picture Archive", containing hundreds of screen captures from the Pokemon anime. However, as the Internet evolved (birth of Google Image Search) the demand for anime screen shots died down. Most of the anime galleries have been taken down due to lack of interest both on my part and with demand. I do have some plans, though, as to how to resurrect it :) Stay tuned.

*FantasyAnime's RPG Shrines*
"FantasyAnime" directly implies anime of the fantasy genre, but I try to expand its definition to identify video games (from Japan). FantasyAnime has always had its RPG shrines, dedicated to various classic RPGs. Every year new RPG shrines would be added. What makes FantasyAnime special in this aspect is the selection of RPGs. There are many great RPGs in Japan that were never officially released in North America. Dedicated fans with knowledge of "ROM hacking" and the Japanese language took it upon themselves to translate these games for us. FantasyAnime helped a great deal in the promotion of these fan translated RPGs by shrining these rare gems. The RPG portion of FantasyAnime has received the most focus so it is the largest & best part of the site.

*Subsites & Features*
Because it is my mission to spread the happiness that anime and gaming have given me, I've wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to experience them. I offer all the best video game emulators for download on a single page. I created "Video Game Emulation for Newbies", a subsite with tutorials for every popular video game emulator. I created "Translation Nation" for people anticipating other Japanese RPGs that could potentially be translated to English. I created "RPG Lunch Break" for people temporarily bored of playing RPGs to play other great classics. I created "The Magical Wonders of Save State Hacking" to teach people how to cheat with any RPG.

*The future...?*
My passion and dedication has not wavered over time. FantasyAnime will always be around and continue to be updated/improved. Expect more exciting additions for the years to come!
