As the article didn't point me towards more information about the Atlus itself, I looked for the "Atlus of True Names" and found this: http://www.kalimedia.com/Atlas_of_True_Names.html
They may sound like places more likely to be found in Middle Earth, but these amusing-sounding locations actually reveal the origins of modern place names.
