What started in 1969 as a General Motors Corp.-financed 1.5-acre lot on East Charleston Boulevard has now grown into four family-owned dealerships, with two located on East Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas, one in Henderson and one in Pahrump.

“Las Vegas has been very good to our family, to go from one to four (dealerships),” said Greg Heinrich, dealer principal, whose father started the business. Heinrich started his career in the car industry when his family moved to Las Vegas from Bakersfield, Calif., in 1969. His father had been working in the industry since 1950 and brought the family to Las Vegas to acquire a lot of his own. Throughout high school and college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Henrich worked in all departments at the dealership, from parts to service to sales. During his time in Las Vegas, Henrich’s late father, Bill, was involved in the Chamber of Commerce, the now-defunct Kidney Foundation and, at one point, considered running for mayor.

Today, the Bill and Lillie Heinrich YMCA is named for Heinrich’s parents and the dealership continues to support the club. For Heinrich, the choice to sell vehicles made by General Motors, which turned 100 in 2008, was an easy one. He had grown up with Chevrolet, felt inclined toward domestics and had “always felt General Motors and Chevrolet were the right place to be.” “Chevrolet had a lot of different models; there was something for everyone,” Heinrich said. “That was important so that we weren’t just selling luxury cars or selling low-end cars — we had trucks, we had cars, then SUVs started and we had SUVS, we had sports cars. Most manufacturers don’t offer all that.” Heinrich attributes Fairway Chevrolet’s success to his co-workers, many of whom have worked at the dealership for decades, and the Las Vegas community.

Heinrich’s operations remain family-oriented. His daughters Whitney and Heidi joining the family business.

Had a wiring issue with my instrument cluster. Talked to Sean P. in the service department. He and everyone I dealt with was extremely professional. I was given a courtesy ride home. Very pleasant and personable driver. I was given a call after my diagnostic and informed of the issue. Was informed of the cost upfront and told roughly when the truck would be ready. The repair was completed and the problem area in my wiring harness was movedoing to a spot reducing wear. It also was complete over 2 hours faster than I was quoted. Extremely happy with my service, cost and how I was treated.

I don't understand some of the bad reviews on this place. I have an older truck that's been nothing but great to me. It finnaly broke down at 130k and I called to set a service appt. I spoke to a guy named Brandon. He set an appointment for me the next day. I dropped my truck off and got a call a couple hours later. I got a fair price, a little pricey but I wanted an engine repair done right. I wasn't jerked around at all. When I came to pick my truck up I talked with the advisor Brandon and he's a really cool guy. I didn't know they had a quick lube so I'll probably switch over from jiffy lube on my next oil change! Thanks Brandon and Fairway for the help! I will see you guys later!

I took my truck for and oil change, I was recommended to do a brake fluid change so I said go ahead . The wait was 2 and half hours. Not to only found out the broke the middle part of the ring and they also somehow activated the Engine Light On, I told them about it. But every one give a face instead of helping me. At the end I was told they will call you to replace the ring . And they only turn off the Engine Light for a minute after I drove away it was back on. Bad customer service overall I'm calling back so they could fixed it. O and I was charged! $200 dollars for there damage. !

I was very disappointed I love the brand Chevy but, the two times I was there I got told some very misleading information. I wanted to buy a vehicle. I was told yes they can finance me and then after I got there was told no there was no way. I'm pissed by the misleading information. They got to do better I got my hopes up to think I was going to leave with a vehicle.

If there is a 0-star, I will give them that. When I get my 2012 Camaro, they break the front shield when they wash the car. The sales man Jose Sandoval told me they will send me reimbursement after fixing it from another dealer near my home in SF because I was in a rush. I naively trusted him. When I finally replaced the front shield in SF, after sending them the receipt and invoices, they started to deny and ask for written approves. There is no written approves at all! Thank you guys! I learnt a lesson from you! Now when I call the used car manager Don Heckathorn, they can always find a reason to hang up on me or simply ignores my calls or messages. These people are liars and I would not recommend anyone come this place to buy cars, because they always want to trick you.

WATCH YOUR CAR IF YOUR GOING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. inspect your car well if you leave it overnight. they will waste your gas. reprogram radio station. and roam though your glove compartments. And there wont be any disciplinary actions . I have a click in my transmission and they want me too think its normal. IDIOTS
