Progress shot. This tattoo has had 2 sessions and is responding very well. The black ink is losing its depth, especially in the middle of the letters. The black outlines contain more ink and will probably stay visible for longer than the shading. The red ink is disappearing pretty quickly. We used the 532nm laser for the red ink, which is a more 'aggressive' wavelength.
Remember that the laser is there purely to break up the ink particles in the dermis. It is the body's immune system that is doing all the hard work as it slowly expels those fragmented ink particles over the course of the next 2 - 3 months.

Yin and yang. This wrist tattoo has had 5 treatments so far. Although it is fading well it still has quite a way to go. Even though the tattoo is over 20 years old, it was re-inked in the last few years. That goes some way to explain why it is being so stubborn. Darker tattoo = more ink = more laser sessions needed for removal.

Niamh is a freelance journalist who has written for the Sunday World newspaper in Ireland. Now living in Sydney, she contributes to Weekend Notes and Film Festival Guide, writing reviews for restaurants, films and events.
She has a tattoo on her lower back and decided she wanted to get it removed. The tattoo is large and has quite a few colours in it. It is also a cover-up of a previous, smaller tattoo. Researching tattoo removal she found that the only Q-switched laser able to remove multi-coloured tattoos - especially the difficult green and blue - is the Quanta Q-Plus C, which led her to Fade to Blank.
Niamh and her partner will be documenting the tattoo removal progress on her blog. You can read about her first treatment here.

Tattoo removal from the foot is done in the same way that all other tattoos are removed. After your initial consultation, you will be taken to a private treatment room where you and your tatto removal expert will begin the painless procedure to remove the tattoos that you do not want.

Depending on the size of the tattoo, the amount of time taken to remove the tattoo ink will vary. Small tattoos will take a lot less time to remove due to their size.
There are going to be upto 6 treatments to remove the tattoo from your body. These are evenly spaced out so that the skin over the tattoo has time to heal from being exposed to laser treatments.

Check out our latest blog post. If you're thinking of getting rid of your tattoo, now is the time to do it!

Winter provides the best opportunity to get your tattoos removed. The reduction in the intentsity of the sun ( both direct and indirect ) means that you have a time of the year that you can get tattoos removed.

Tattoo removal is done by a process that used laser treatments to remove the ink that is in the skin. The ink is broken down when a specific range of light ( from the laser ) comes in contact with the ink.

The laser is controlled so that it only ever penetrates the skin to the depth of the tattoo, and never any further. This means that you can know that it is only working on the tattoo removal process during your treatment.
