Ransomware attacks have topped $15,000 losses per minute, or $8 billion per year. Every minute more than 1,200 new variants of malware are released, more than 20 phishing email attacks are sent, and more than 5,000 record leaks are publicly disclosed.

These are bleak numbers, but unfortunately a reality. So what is the best way to protect yourself? Ultimately it comes down to data backups. Training and awareness are also key, but if you do not have backups of your data, you are truly taking a risk with any files you do not want to lose. Find out more about backups at https://eyonic.com/1/?42 or to read more about the statistics presented here, you can read the article at https://eyonic.com/1/?GY.

UnityPoint Health was a victim of a phishing email attack that tricked employees into opening emails they thought came from other employees. These emails typically ask for credentials or other information and then hackers use these to gain access to a network and compromise the confidentiality of records.

This particular hack lasted about 3 weeks and protected information from 1.4 million patients was put at risk. To read more about this incident, visit https://eyonic.com/1/?GQ.
