The Galaxy S7 Edge rides to Samsung's rescue during Q2 2016. #samsung   #galaxys7   #s7edge   #apple   #iphone7   #2016q2
In the week before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phablet, the South Korean company has announced its Q2 2016 earnings report. Crucially, year on year revenue was up five percent, profit up eighteen percent, and that turnaround has been driven by strong sales of the Galaxy S7 family of devices (primarily the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge).

Off the shelf hardware and a focus on security. Is that enough to get you interested in the BlackBerry DTEK50? #blackberry   #dtek50   #security   #android   #johnchen   #priv   #enterprise
As promised, Blackberry has another smartphone to reveal to the world. The DTEK50 is a good mid-range package, and the list price of $299 is not only less than the launch price of the BlackBerry Priv. It's also the Android handset where BlackBerry pulls its focus away from the High Street, and targets the enterprise market with as much force as it can muster.

Pokémon GO bots should not be seen as a problem... they should be embraced and used to improve the 'post Level 20' game experience. #pokemongo   #bot   #farming   #level20   #endgame
Pokémon GO has a problem. It's a problem that strikes at the heart of the game. Once you pass a certain point the game gets boring and there is no more excitement or exploration. If developers Niantic can solve it, there is hope that the viral hit will have a long and productive life. Curiously, the answer might lie in another problematic issue for the apple... the rise of the automatic farming bots.

Has Tim Cook played a trump card on Samsung? #apple   #tsmc   #samsung   #galaxynote   #note7   #a10   #a11   #iphone8   #leak   #rumor
Previously in the 'which manufacturer will Apple spend a lot of money with to supply chips for the new iPhone' saga, Tim Cook decided to turn to TSMC for the fabrication of the A10 system-on-chip which is expected to lie at the heart of the iPhone 7 family. Will Cook extend this power play to the iPhone 8?

Is the new iPhone going to be Apple's dream or Tim Cook's nightmare? #apple   #iphone7   #iphone7plus   #iphome7pro   #iphoneSE   #strategy   #timcook
For a second consecutive quarter, iPhone handset sales have fallen. With a year-on-year fall of seven million handsets, the long-expected chink in Apple's financial armour is on show. Tim Cook would no doubt counter that services are up, but that is barely a fifth of the value of iPhone sales. As the world dreams of a new iPhone, will the decisions behind its evolution turn out to be the start of a nightmare for Apple?

The five ways the Galaxy Note 7 could fail... #samsung   #galaxyNote   #Note7   #failure   #strategy   #marketing   #duallens   #irisscanner   #camera
The Galaxy Note 7's success is not going to be an easy slam-dunk success. It has numerous challenges to overcome, perceptions to alter, and will need to cope with the delightful impact of 'events, dear boy' that could derail its path to prosperity.

Which iPhone do you prefer... Steve Jobs' or Tim Cook's? #apple   #iphone   #iphone7   #iphone7plus   #iphone7pro   #iphoneSE   #iphone5C   #stevejobs   #timcook
As Apple prepares to launch another iteration of the iPhone, how far has Tim Cook dragged the smartphone away from Steve Job's vision? How is the iPhone evolving to take into account modern market conditions? Is there such a thing as 'the iPhone' any more?

Half the apps... double the revenue,,, Apple is winning at apps... #apple   #ios   #android   #google   #appstore   #googleplay   #revenue   #develoers
Steve Ballmer was right. It really is "developers, developers, developers" in the smartphone world. There are countless platforms that could have succeeded in the mobile world but they all lacked one major element of the story. Applications. And Apple is winning the fight.
