CASE FOCUS - a look back at a case where Evidential staff have provided expert witness services.

In the case of Rv Richard Salt, Greater Manchester Police instructed Sean Murphy to analyse crucial CCTV footage from a Public House where an alleged sexual assault had occurred.

Despite the defendant turning off all the lights, the CCTV footage was able to be enhanced to an extent where the jury were able to identify the movements of the defendant and upon this evidence they convicted him and he was given a life sentence.

CASE FOCUS - a look back at cases Evidential staff have played an integral part in.

Rhys Jones Murder Investigation - the tragic murder of a young boy on his way home from football training. Sean Murphy was instructed by Merseyside Police to assist in presenting the evidence in its best possible light because of its complexity. Working alongside a number of expert witnesses an EPE (Electronic Presentation of Evidence) package was created that was used throughout the whole trial and was highly praised by Prosecuting QC Neil Flewitt.

Sean provided a complete solution from design to implementation and was further instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service and HM Courts & Tribunals Service to assist with the provision of a courtroom installation of AV equipment designed to enhance the viewing of the evidence as well as providing a multiple live video feed to a dedicated Press Annex which allowed Press and Media to be located separately from the court whilst not missing any of the trial.

Sean Mercer was found guilty of the murder of Rhys Jones and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
