Product Manager, Google[x]
Introduction
I am a Product Manager at Google[x] working on something really cool. I wish I could tell you about it.

Previously I was a Product Manager on several photography products within Google Maps, including Views (g.co/views), Photo Sphere (g.co/photosphere), and Street View.

My hobbies include photography, hiking, standup paddling, and reading. I feel drawn to the ocean at all times. Check out my Views profile to photos of my travels.

A few highlights from my bucket list...
  • Change the world
  • Write a children's book
  • Go to the Northwest Hawaiian Islands
  • Make a huge donation to my favorite charity
  • Give a TED talk
  • Hike to Mount Everest base camp
  • Swim with a whale shark
* All opinions here are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.
Bragging rights
I've surfed 10 foot waves in Hawaii. I camped for seven weeks in Yosemite National Park. And I've been to 44 of the 50 US states.

RIP Julian Bond. I feel tremendously fortunate to have taken his small lecture class at UVA. It's not often that you get to learn about history from someone who was part of it.

Julian Bond, Former N.A.A.C.P. Chairman and Civil Rights Leader, Dies at 75.

Cool to see my former company getting some good press coverage in Tech Crunch. If you're interested in fatigue, sleep, high performance athletes, etc. then check this out. For years, they've been working with many professional sports teams, military, and a number of other industries.

Disclosure: I'm an investor in Fatigue Science. Opinions are my own and not those of my employer.

I'm selling my 2BR condo in Honolulu right near Diamond Head, Waikiki, and all the beaches and surf spots. I loved living there and it's also a great investment property. If you're interested, please contact my Realtor (http://pacificfinehomes.com/contact.htm).

Just donated to 'Whale Entanglement - Rescue Team'. Give $1. Change a lot. https://onetoday.google.com/p/kfrfvczv
Did you know? Thirty whales were reported entangled in 2014 off the United States west coast. The number of affected whales increase each year.

Check out all these amazing underwater Street View images. Our oceans are magical and we need to protect them.

I've always loved Dr. Seuss... and who doesn't?
So I am excited that my wife and I just bought a limited reproduction of one of his paintings! It's called "Firebird". And I hope seeing it every day in my home will stoke the childlike wonder that keeps me inspired and passionate about what I do.

Here's a description of the painting and the other one in the series, called "Freebird":

"Though Dr. Seuss’s books have an ingenious quality of effortless simplicity, he worked painstakingly hard to accomplish the appearance of whimsy and ease. Freebird seems to present the quality of effortless simplicity and Firebird the hard work needed to attain it."

The painter is the one that limits the number of reproductions. Just learned that this weekend in Quebec City, at a Dali exhibition, where all the sculptures were reproductions...

Nice laid back restaurant and bar. I loved the Philly Cheese Steak and fries. My wife loves the turkey burger. They have a good selection of beer on tap and in bottles. Been there many times.
