I keep hearing about the damage from Hurricane Sandy, and I can't help but wonder how the critters at the Coney Island Aquarium made out... several of those enclosures are outdoors....

Last week, I posted curiosity about animals in the New York Aquarium, which I suspected was devastated by Sandy... Whereas the animals survived, the Aquarium has not, and needs your help.  I know times are difficult, but keep this in mind if you love Coney Island as much as I do...

Fantastic sushi/sashimi, the best quality sushi in the area. The chefs understand that the fish is the star and don't try to pack you with rice. I have never ordered drinks, but they have a full bar and we often see many people happily sharing sake at the other tables. They recently started a renovation to take over the next door space and will reopen with hibachi tables and we can't wait to try that, but really really really miss the sushi while they are converting...

This is an amazing restaurant. Top notch service, excellent service and a huge selection of fantastic Asian food. We stop in for lunch every time we go to see a film at Colonie Center. As a Chinese food junkie, this place was a gift from the heavens to the Capitol District. A++ Family friendly and reasonable prices!
