Pretty cool look at Constraint Layouts
I was lucky enough to attend Google I/O and I went to the talk about the new Layout – ConstraintLayout . I was really excited about this feature that I couldn’t wait till I got home to try it out. What is ConstraintLayout? [crayon-57470a69ae0c8011909434-i/] is a new type of layout that you can use in your Android App, … Continue reading ConstraintLayout 101 & the new Layout Builder in Android Studio

There's a formal blog post in here somewhere, but Google's Messaging Messaging is Messy....a few thoughts.

I'm going to armchair product strategize here:

1) Make Allo your app of choice for SMS/IM for consumers from a messaging standpoint. It looks great. Allow users to attach Allo accounts to their Google account. Add a web version. Everywhere in non-apps accounts where Hangouts appears, replace it with Allo if the user has connected it to their Google account.

2) Move Hangouts to a more enterprise-y / Google Apps feature type of thing. Hangouts is clunky as an IM service, but a fantastic way to do video conferencing. It's consumer reputation is too damaged in my opinion. Also the app is hardly competitive versus other options like Whatsapp, FB Messenger, etc. Final improvement...make it easier to setup a Hangouts video call. This currently requires way too many taps. This step involves eliminating pre-installation of Hangouts on Android devices.

3) Either kill Google Voice or make Google Voice a Project Fi-ish thing only. If moving to Project Fi, kill integration with Hangouts. Google Voice integration in Hangouts only adds to it's clunkiness. Also, kill the Google Voice app once and for all. As a Google Voice user, the service is fantastic, but sometimes I wonder if it's on a cutting block at Google somewhere. I'd be willing to move to Project Fi (or just porting my number back to T-Mobile because I use > 12GB / month) if Allo becomes the way.

4) Messenger...seems like this could stay around for those who simply want a simple way to send SMS/MMS messages.

5) Stop creating new mainstream ways to send someone a message and put all your weight behind Allo, because it looks great.

All of this, of course, is easier said then done.

This looks pretty nice and infinitely easier to use than Google Now on Tap.

Check out Google's new Gboard keyboard for iOS that adds Google search and its results into your keyboard. It looks pure awesome, but yes, at the moment, is an exclusive to iOS. There is hope, though! Googlers are saying that they are working on bringing it to Android already.

Brace yourselves, because you are about to see something really cool that you are going to want on your phone today, only it’s not coming today and is an iOS exclusive at the moment. Don’t ask me why, just know that Google likes to torture us and this is the latest example. Say hello, to …

Reasonably priced with an interesting variety of sealife and animals. Dinosaur section is cool as well. Only criticism, there could be a little more.

Fantastic service from the staff. This facility provides plenty of carts and hand trucks to assist your move. The only ding would be the elevators and entrances are narrow for a storage facility. If you have a long couch, be prepared to take it up the stairs if you aren't on the first floor.
