Hitting the tail end of a 3 week push to implement final set of features in PremoFM.  About to enter a phase where I prepare for a limited alpha release.  This means getting the backend ready to move from my datacenter* in my home to some VPSs at +DigitalOcean .  Then enhancing app stability, then an Alpha release soon for Android 5.0 users.

Sign up to be a part of the alpha @ http://premo.fm

Anyway, feeling like Fresh Prince here...

So yea, this is embarrassing. Camera just straight up doesn't work on my Nexus 5. The transition to Android 5 has been troublesome to say the least. #cmonson

I really just wanted a reason to use this meme.  Here are a few Android developer podcasts I listen to.

My Nexus 5 with Android 5.1 is the Android phone I thought it could be. Outstanding.

High five to the +Android team. #pixelpushing

Getting things ready to roll to the cloud which involves modification of my deploy scripts to push to other servers, creating production configurations, configuring load balancers, creating HTTPS certificates, editing DNS records, etc. Essentially all the things I didn't think I'd ever do as an #Android developer.

Anyway, PrēmoFM will launch for Android sometime on April 1st in a very limited Alpha so I can begin getting user feedback. #nojoke

I'm low key terrified, but I guess that's a good thing.

I just published a new article about Android apps performance. +Joaquim Verges was kind enough to let me use his application Falcon Pro has an example once again.
Two years ago, I published an articled titled Android Performance Case Study to help Android developers understand what tools and technique can be used to identify, track down, and fix performance ...

It is now possible to bring the benefits of your app to your users wherever they happen to be, no matter what device they have near them. Get started today by checking out our new reference sample: it's a bare-bones, but functional music player that works across your phone, car, watch and Google Cast devices. It's built on the new media APIs in Android 5.0 Lollipop and supports all the mentioned form factors in a single codebase!

Gouda Morning Burger is super good. Goes well with the seasoned fries! My new favorite burger place.
