Diverse regions, cultures, customs and languages are drivers of the European society reaching far beyond the few metropolitan capital cities. Further development of the European Union is closely linked with the development of the European regions. However, citizens (now more than ever) tend to forget the benefits that the EU offers to all of us in Europe. Thus, the aim  of the  ‘Euro Regions’ initiative is to promote European regions on Instagram in order to remind the public that Europe is strong because of its diversity, as well as its unity....

2014 is a hugely important year for Europe – for deciding our future, and remembering our past. It’s the year that we mark three major anniversaries in our history, events that changed the course of a continent and affected the lives of millions. This Europe week, we’ll be remembering those anniversaries.

100 years since the start of the First World War, 1914.
