Various countries in the Mediterranean Sea were captured last 10 May by the Sentinel-3A satellite, in this false-colour image. Parts of Greece, Turkey and Libya are featured, showing their distinct relief differences. In the middle of the image is the Greek island of Crete, dominated by harsh mountains rising out of the sea.

Realizing that one can play games with spectrum, with specialized filtration and other means...to enhance colors or detail... but is the Amazon really that muddy for its entire length ??

With #ExoMars half way to its destination, instruments on board are performing health checks. #Schiaparelli , the entry, descent, and landing module, has reported good health.

Sometimes it’s good to get into a spin. Particularly if you are a student wanting to run a hyper-gravity experiment. For the eighth year, ESA’s Education Office is open to submissions for its Spin Your Thesis! programme. #education #spinyourthesis

We usually send them 400 km up, but next week ESA will be sending six astronauts 800 m underground into the rocky caves of Sardinia, Italy. The caving course recreates aspects of a space expedition with an international crew and has become an essential part of ESA’s astronaut training.
This year’s #CAVES2016 participants are ESA astronaut Pedro Duque, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Richard Arnold, Japanese astronaut Aki Hoshide, Chinese astronaut Ye Guangfu and cosmonaut Sergei Korsakov.
