The Erasmus+ programme has proven itself to be one of the most successful initiatives from the #EuropeanUnion. With 4.4 million higher education students having benefited from the programme since 1987, Erasmus+ plays a major role in the promotion of European values, in the fostering of intercultural dialogue and of course in the advocacy of international learning and teaching.

However, and despite its success, the #Erasmus+ programme is not always equally accessible to all higher education students. In regulated studies (e.g: pharmacy, medicine or law), students are often prevented from taking part in an Erasmus+ mobility because of field-specific obstacles, such as lack of support from their faculties and professors or incompatible course structure. What can be done do reduce field specific obstacles to international student mobility? How can states keep their country-specific regulations but still enable their students to have the opportunity to go abroad? These are some of the questions that will be discussed during this Salon.
