General refurbishment and maintenance works on the Embassy building are ongoing, with the expected completion date of December 2017.

Today, we are pleased to announce that Phase 1 of the refurbishment, the Consular Section, has been completed.

Phase 2, the Ground Floor, is set to commence shortly. During this time, access to the Embassy will be via the Consular Section at the Basement until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and offer our sincere thanks for your patience, support and cooperation.

Change of Consular Services Fees

The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia would like to bring to your attention a new directive, the Consular Service Payment Tariff, indicating the change of fees for our consular services and visas to Ethiopia.

The new directive shall enter into force here at the Embassy as of 4th September 2017.

The Health Extension Worker program is a key pillar of #Ethiopia's health care system...Health Extension Workers like Aynalem are agents of transformation. They train hundreds of other women in their communities, empowering them to make informed decisions for their families and completely transforming the health profile of the region...one of the most significant features of this transformation is the reduction in rates of child malnutrition.

The Embassy will be closed on tomorrow, Friday 1st September, in observance of #EidAlAdha, a national holiday in #Ethiopia.

The Consular section will be open on September 1 from 9am - 1pm only.

Normal working hours resume on Monday 4th September.

Ethiopians have so far contributed $460 million towards the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, though various schemes including bond sales, athletic events and lottery draws.

Upon going fully operation, it will generate up to 6,450MW of electricity. Preparations are underway to install two 375MW turbines for test power.

The dam, now 60% complete, is expected to be completed with entirely domestic funds and has been billed as a landmark project signaling #Ethiopia's renaissance.
