By the end of this week, Facebook will be a publicly traded company after its initial public offering, and could be valued at nearly $100 billion. While this might sound silly to some, it's a platform that means a lot to me; using Facebook is a huge part of my job.

Here's how it all started for me: I got invited (remember when you needed an invite?) in late 2005 by someone at my high school who was a grade below me. I was sitting next to her at the computer lab and saw her on Facebook. I had wanted an invite badly, and she said she had some. This e-mail is what started it all for me.
