In order to provide the best possible service to our travelers, both business travelers and leisure travelers, we take some time each week to read the industry news from a variety of outlets.
Occasionally we read something that we feel is worth sharing, the news that Delta Air Lines and Korean Air have made moves to form a joint venture is one such case. The fact that the joint venture, should it be finalized, will cover 370 destinations in the Americas and Asia makes us feel that it is newsworthy and something that we will track with interest.
You can see more details regarding this by following the below link to an article on

Business Travel Management "juggling the priorities"
by Executive Travel Consultants

Business travel managers, regardless of the number of travelers they look after, are more and more often having to make decisions that go beyond the act of getting the respective business traveler from A to B. In fact, a business travel manager must also focus on travel costs, efficiency, and equally important the business travelers comfort.

Often, travel managers place most emphasis on costs and savings; they have pressures from above and the financial side is the easiest of the criteria to measure. The accounts show precise figures and if the travel manager gets it right, it is considered to be a sign of a well-run ship.

When thinking about efficiency in this context, we are not looking at cost efficiency but effective travel arrangements and itineraries. Some employees are constantly on the move. Even if the business traveler flies first class every time, the chances of burnt out are high.

What a travel manager and their executive travel management company can do is to make the whole process as efficient as possible. When planning itineraries, we look at layover times and distances from airports to hotels, as well as where meetings are to be held, among other things. The object is to make the whole trip as efficient as possible.

No one likes to be uncomfortable and for the business traveler, it is important to try to make the trip as comfortable as possible. Often it is the small things that make a difference. Most budgets won’t allow for first class travel but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a difference. Checking our clients into their preferred seat on a flight, window or aisle, makes a small difference but a difference nonetheless; as does booking their preferred in-flight meal. A five-star hotel may provide the height of luxury, but if it is in the wrong location it may make the overall experience uncomfortable due to travel demands getting to and from meetings. It may be that a three star in a better location would make the trip more comfortable.

This is only a brief summary of what an experienced executive travel management company must consider when planning business trips on behalf of their travel management clients. As software has become more sophisticated, the more cost effective, efficient and comfortable business travel is today.

Today's technology supporting business travel can make a difference. That said, in the hands of an experienced travel manager like those you will find at Executive Travel Consultants is a good reason why so many companies find little reason not to explore companies like ours that continue to stay on top of what makes business travel better.

While we know of too many reasons to list here why even a single business traveler may want to consider the corporate travel management services offered by ETC.

We invite you to visit "ETC" Travel News where you will find much more travel news and information supporting today's business travel and travel managers.

We are not unique in seeing this, and hotels around the world are now offering ‘bleisure’ stays. Where business meets leisure. We hope that you find the article, that highlights what is on offer from a few hotels around the world, interesting.

Executive Travel Consultants would like to remind frequent travelers to review some possible changes and the effects it will have on many who travel frequently on business.

ETC and our experienced travel managers thought this to be a worthy share for those wanting to keep the time invested at the minimum while traveling on business.

While there are many ways that an ETC travel consultant can help business travelers, corporate travel managers, leisure travelers make travel better, we think the TSA PreCheck program an important consideration for most anyone frequently traveling.

We also would like to ask that you share any thoughts you may have about the "TSA PreCeck" program.

Happy Travels!

Delays suffered by travelers flying on British Airways over the Christmas period look set to recommence in February. The ongoing dispute between the airline and its ‘mixed fleet’ cabin crew will see further industrial action in February. Our clients, both business travelers and holidaymakers, can rest assured that ETC will find alternative travel arrangements should they be affected.

A short article explaining the reasons for the strike action and dates of the 6 days forecast to be disrupted can be found by following the link below.
