The Yee chee kim ya ma stance is good core work,it will strengthen those inner muscles that help you live well as you age.Expanding your lungs while breathing in YCKYM sends more oxygen to the cells of your body increasing energy in your organs and helping your brain process info faster.
Focus is increased as you concentrate on holding proper muscle position. The mind becomes more relaxed as you breathe deeper. The legs get a good workout as you sink lower and push your pelvis forward.Your central nervous system is able to do it's job more efficiently as you stretch your spine.
Do you play your Siu Nim Tau outside of class? If so ,how much? In my opinion ,time spent training SNT is extremely beneficial for increased health and fitness. If you will make the time for SNT I'm sure you will feel the same results I have. MYT

I know life is busy we all have stuff to handle. Personally I wouldn't have it any other way. Life with out challenges would be boring. So I understand when "important " stuff comes up and you miss class, but here's an idea, get in and train any way to develop the attitude and energy to handle your business. I mean really handle the "stuff" that comes up smart and efficient.
Done properly Ving Tsun training creates an eliminate the B.S. mindset so that the student can live more relaxed and healthy. Learn to handle things the Ving Tsun way, straight forward, on center, under control while being relaxed and free. Use your kung fu every day, As Sigung Moy Yat said "kung fu is life".
You have a tool to create a better life use it and tell others what's working for you. It's up to you. Will you be in this week? MYT

Have you asked anyone you know to come check out a class lately? I know, as soon as you mention kung fu you get that look of disbelief or worse they start making funny sounds or drunken bird-like movements. So what, you're offering them an opportunity to do what has been so helpful in your life. If you have benefited from kung fu training, why not offer them the opportunity. You might be surprised. Here's the thing, you can't tell someone about the benefits, they must experience, they have to try it. Give your peers the benefit of the doubt.Maybe Moy Yat Ving Tsun kung fu will be one the best things they've ever done. Invite someone today. MYT
