Google has revealed some amazing stats about its Cardboard headset sales, claiming that it has parted ways with over 5 million units already. In addition to this, the search engine giant says that the Play Store has seen more than 25 million virtual reality apps downloaded so far. With such stats on a technology that

Looks like the virus can also be transmitted sexual from an infected person...pretty scary.
A sudden, sharp increase in babies with “no foreheads and very strange heads” was baffling doctors in Brazil. That set off a search for answers that led to a little-known pathogen, the Zika virus.

A very informative article. Last week I did a study about this emerging problem and referred and WHO, CDC as well. The risky group are countries in the equatorial region where the Aedes Egypti mosquito is rampant. That means any place where Dengue and Chikungunya are currently a problem is at risk. Risk in rest of the regions may be through people who visited this region and got infected. The Summer olympics due in 6 months, in Aug 2016, may well get postponed, scrapped or transferred. .

In case you missed this article....here it is again.
A mountain of evidence indicates that educators have been painfully slow to use technology to change and improve the ways they teach.

Hey Esther, can you pull out some quotes which ring true to your observations of other teachers?

I am hoping it is as simple as in effective communication like:

"When learning experiences are focused solely on the technology itself, with no specific connection to grade or content learning goals, teachers are unlikely to incorporate technology into their practices,"

But if the other issues discussed are the real drivers then the ed tech industry might need a closer look at prices of their products to ensure their employees continue to be paid... a few early adopters will unlikely pay the bills for the next 5 years as general adoption increases to sustainable numbers.

Are homework exercises/activities the way to get teachers slowly moving with manageable change. Clearly they are becoming overwhelmed, and shy of repeating an attempt which had a few classroom logistical problems and even a few software bugs or poor fit within the way a real classroom hour works.

Can you share a few quotes that stick out?
