HONOURING FALLEN HEROES.

Customers at our St Luke’s Wellbeing Hub have marked 100 years since World War One with a memorial table that they crafted themselves. An afternoon tea is being planned to mark the occasion in a special way, with many customers recalling their own memories of the aftermath of WWI and WWII.

We think our customers have done an AMAZING job with their crafts. http://ow.ly/i/Jsii3 http://ow.ly/i/Jsijh http://ow.ly/i/Jsikv

Well done to everyone at our Walter Boye Wellbeing Hub in Brentwood raising over £150 towards the Poppy Appeal 2018. We welcomed a member of The Royal British Legion into the hub, talking to us about the Poppy story and where all the money goes. Apparently Essex raised 1.4 million last year! http://ow.ly/i/Jshuo http://ow.ly/i/JshuB http://ow.ly/i/JshuM

Our volunteer at Millard House just keeps improving week by week! ECL customer Ian, who is regularly based at our Roundwood Work Based Training facility, helped residents have some Halloween fun. Here he is with customer Jo, who very much enjoyed her spin. Way to go Ian!

We are so proud of our customers! Today, Ian volunteered at retirement home Millard House and handled morning tea and the Wednesday bingo game by himself. Ian has been working towards this for a number of weeks, with volunteering one of his key activities that was identified as part of his personal programme. Residents of Millard House absolutely love seeing Ian each week, have a look at those smiles! http://ow.ly/i/Jg1BN http://ow.ly/i/Jg1CP http://ow.ly/i/Jg1DI

Congratulations to our staff stars and team of the month!

Mid Essex Short Term Support in the Community is our team of the month. The team have experienced a lot of change in the past six months at a time when the service has been expanding to meet the demands of their contract and regulatory compliance. The team have continued to deliver a high standard and quality of care resulting in the best possible outcomes for their customers.

Jasmin Pryke from the North Short Term Support in the Community team went above and beyond to support a customer who was not receiving the care she needed from her GP. The customer’s quality of life has improved since the input of support from ECL and the dedication of Jasmin and the team.

Trudy Searles from Hesten Lodge Wellbeing Hub leads by example with excellent person centred approaches, being creative in the experiences and opportunities offered to customers. She is a highly valued member of the team.

"We’ve had many happy years providing support to adults with disabilities both within the hub and in the community. Today was a day to mark that and it was brilliant to see so many past staff and customers back again to help us celebrate." Jonathan West, Local Business Manager of Chapter House Wellbeing Hub

“I’ll never stop learning, I’m always learning. Even with technology it’s constantly changing all the time. I love coming to work and learning.”

A big round of applause for ECL customer Kim, who recently completed the Mitie Foundation & ECL’s Ready2Work programme and is now in a paid apprenticeship role! Her placement covered of variety of tasks and with every day she was able to learn new things to help build her skills and confidence, which she’s used to secure a paid position upon completion.
