A three year old game cannot be a classic. It may be fantastic, but not a classic. Come back in another fifteen and I'll consider it without the autocannibalism.

So We have no PS2 nor GameCube classics?

I thought Assassin's Creed 2 exhibited quite the classic fail...

How anyone can put out-of-bounds into a sandbox game is forever beyond me.

Nope. According to the official rulebook, games don't become classics until 15 years after release. Sorry to inform you guys of this, but kingdom hearts is not a classic. Neither is gta san Andreas

When did ps2 come out, 2000? Shit, the best selling system ever isn't even a classic. :/

Would be interesting to see this official rule book +Devin Hall speaks of.

Personally - any game that originated on a console which is no longer in production (good examples the gamecube, N64, dreamcast) is up for the title of classic regardless of age.

I can agree with that for the most part. With the exception that only good/popular/well known for something games, earn the title. And for exceptionally great titles that are sure to become classics as soon as it's regular distribution is over.
