Since I am a solo, I think I will give my self a title. How about Chief Sanitation Engineer, and Chief Executive Officer and Plumber In Chief, and... well the list goes on.

Why the elderly are at greater risk of contracting Legionnaires disease. http://ow.ly/zQhQN
Legionnaires disease is generally contracted by those with weak immune systems. While legionnaires disease is found in young children, and those with a strong health condition, it is those that are weak, either from age, or other illness that contract the disease. Hospital Outbreaks The statement that the best way not to get sick is …

iPads were prevalent in the jury pool room today at criminal court. And in court the judge and defense attorneys all had them.

Recorded statements can be helpful or harmful, depending if you're giving them or using them against the giver.

After contracting Legionnaires disease, what you should know about making recorded statements http://ow.ly/yF2pi
One of the first things that a hotel or hospital that faces claims from someone who got legionella on their premises will want to do is get a recorded statement from the victim. They might also want statements from the victim’s family members. Certainly any company or organization that is being accused of exposing people …

Story
Tagline
I help lawyers get better organized, and find information faster by being less dependent on paper.
Introduction
I'm Ernie Svenson, AKA Ernie the Attorney, co-founder of Paperless Chase, and a commercial litigator with over 26 years of experience. I'm a regular speaker at state bar association events and industry conferences, including the ABA TechShow

I wrote two ABA-published books: Acrobat in One Hour for Lawyers, and Blogging in One Hour for Lawyers. I was selected as a FastCase 50 honoree in 2011, based on my efforts to help lawyers with technology.

I'm probably best known for my Ernie the Attorney blog, which has general commentary about the effect of technology on society. But I'm also known for these blogs: PDF for Lawyers and Blogging in One Hour. And for my guitar playing and singing? Not so much.

Dane is a fellow lawyer, and we've worked on cases together so I've had several chances to see him "behind the scenes" so to speak. I knew Dane was a great lawyer before I worked with him, but now I know he's an outstanding lawyer. Dane is smart, prepared, confident, and wise. And he's a well known Louisiana legal ethics expert, not just for the fact that he teaches the subject at Loyola Law School. But also because he wrote a book on the subject, and —more importantly— represents lawyers who are charged with ethics violations by the Louisiana Disciplinary Board. I am fortunate not to have had any disciplinary problems, but I know that lawyers can't always control what clients think or do. So I'm not naive enough to think that just being a competent, and diligent, lawyer will inoculate you from ethics complaints. One thing I know for certain: If I ever had a disciplinary problem the first person I'd call would be Dane. I also know a lot of lawyers who've made that call. All of them have been happy they did.

I've known Michael since law school, so I'm writing from the standpoint of someone who knows him as a fellow lawyer. Michael is the kind of lawyer I wish there were more of. He is friendly and easy going when you chat with him, which would lull you into thinking he's more friendly than serious. But when he flips into work mode he's relentless and laser-focused. His reputation in the legal profession is stellar, not just for his work ethic, but just as much for his professionalism and strong moral compass. Michael is a great guy, and an outstanding lawyer.

I went into Peake the other day to check out SUVs, somewhat apprehensive about them given the many negative reviews here. Although I did find it suspicious that all but one of the reviews were anonymous. I had owned a BMW from Peake many years ago, and had no problems, but I was concerned that perhaps the service level had dropped off. My wife and I walked into the showroom on a Tuesday night right before closing time and were greeted by Jason LaPorte, who couldn't have been more helpful, considerate, and accommodating. We decided on a car that was most appealing and left with a plan to come back the next day if we were still committed. Jason sent me a short email the next day, just to let me know he'd be available by email if I wanted to reach him to find out more about the car. Once again, he provided the appropriate level of attention, without being fawning, pushy, or insincere. When we decided to buy the car I called and Jason was completely on the ball about what we could take care of before we came in, to save time and agony. He pushed everything through efficiently and we bought the car without any hassle. Then he patiently explained the car's operational functions to us, and gave us his cellphone number in case we needed to ask questions after we left. I did have some questions so I called him, and each time he thoughtfully explained the function I was trying to understand. The last time I called him I got his voicemail. After I hung up I figured out how to solve the problem myself (it was an issue about activating the satellite radio). I didn't leave him a message, but he called me back anyway. He told me that he was going on vacation next week, but said that he could still respond by email or text message if it was something important. I don't know what other people experience at Peake, and I don't know who they dealt with. But I can say that Jason Laporte was exceptional. So, ask for him when you go to Peake. I'll bet he's not the only good salesman there. My name is posted on this review and I'm easy to find on the Internet so you can determine if I really exist and if I really believe what I say. Just google "ernie attorney" and you'll find me. Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying my new BMW and I expect that I'll continue to enjoy good service from Peake.

I've had the opportunity to collaborate with Townsend in legal matters, and I've always been impressed by several things that set him apart from most other lawyers: – He gives 100% to every client, and every matter, no matter how large or small – He makes himself available to clients in many ways, and strives to allay their fears. – He takes advantage of technology, in works hard to keep up with it, because he sees it as a way to be more efficient and do a better job for his clients. – Townsend cares deeply about helping people, and he takes time to explain all the things that affect his clients in the course of legal proceedings. One more short point: I once ran into a fellow from out of town who mentioned that he had had a brush with the law when he came to New Orleans for Mardi Gras one year, but that he had found an amazing lawyer. He couldn't stop gushing about how wonderful this lawyer was. I asked him who it was, and he told me it was Townsend Myers.
