Better or Worse...NOT BROKE!
‘You know, as a guy, you need to have some
stuff before you get married. I mean at least your own little place, a small
car and some savings in the bank. Nowadays, marriage, women and children are
very expensive…not like in your day’ was the asinine answer ...

I sincerely thank you for responding or rather reacting to my comments. I am extremely chuffed. Oddly enough, I did surmise your writing style which can be rather acrid, acidic, radical, stinging, exasperated (not exasperating), explosively blasting, tho not bombastic, irreverent, at times downright disrespectfully don't-give-a-damning, outrageous, dismissive and the like, is rather venting your splenetic bile on All and Sundry. Using this medium for that function, I understand perfectly. These issues need a caustic and biting pen (or rather writing style) such as yours to bring these burning sentiments to the fore. I agree with your opinions 96.0099%! Not for you the sycophantic yesmanism. Thank God for that. I hate, detest and abhor it.
As for the expletives, think of folks like Mrs. Brew Graves, Aunty Merle and, of course, your ever 'so sensitive' (a bit over-done) mom-in-law for whom it is already too late to  come to terms with these 'taboo' terms.
Keep writing. I will react or give feedback if necessary. Blessed love.

A tough topic to unpick...Black women and their hair!
Image courtesy: www.organicbeautytalk.com/your-nappy-hair I was recently on set with my wife, shooting a TV commercial for a well-known brand of carbonated drink. I wasn't actually part of the cast and crew but this was a wee...

Pushing Back - Immigrant Attitudes in Ghana
So there I was, minding my own business when I simultaneously
felt and overheard a disturbance in ‘The Force’. A noise that I’ve become all
too familiar with since I started working in Ghana. A noise that is as
offensive as it is unnecessary. The all too fa...

2014 and sex is still shrouded in mystery in Ghana. A few thoughts.
I can’t speak for all of Africa but I can for Ghana. And with the exception of a few countries, I know I can safely say that what applies to Ghana applies to most of Africa. Now Africa is this weird and wonderful place that h...

Introduction
I'm just a guy. Like most other guys out there, there's nothing particularly special about me. I blend into the crowd, have my own peculiar set of problems and I'm looking for answers just like everyone else. I can only describe myself in terms of adjectives that others have used such as, polemic, arrogant, abrasive, callous, mean and aggressive. My wife, friends and loved ones contribute other adjectives to the ones already listed; generous, kind, loving, caring, emotional, thoughtful and fair. I like some of the characterizations and others I could do without. But if I’m to be honest with myself, all of these descriptions of me are true in one way or the other. But one thing I definitely know to be true about myself is that I’m interested in people. I don’t mean just individuals but their interactions with other individuals and the decisions and dynamics that unfurl as a result. I’ve always been pessimistic about people and believe that the average individual is unkind and out for self. Throughout my life, I’ve been constantly surprised by those few who don’t fit that mould. Yes, they are very few! These are some of my thoughts, on no particular subject, in my search for answers.
