This is not necessarily a question for the show, but a question for +Frederick Van Johnson
and any other member of the TWiP army who happen to own a 5K iMac and do either video or photo editing regularly.
The high-resolution screen is indeed nice, but it's also kinda glossy. Big and glossy. How do you cope with that? Is glaring a real problem? Do you see your face on the screen whenever the ambient light is bright enough?
What I have in mind is that, I'm thinking about buying one but I wouldn't want to invest in a 27-inch mirror to watch my own gob every time I try to work on my photos and videos.
A bit like when reading something in an iPad screen whenever there's a window or another light source nearby. Or just the light off the screen itself. It's a mirror.
So is the 5K iMac a big desktop mirror?
Well, maybe seeing one's own gob constantly on the screen is not a problem for some, but that's a topic for another show, isn't it. ;-)
Too bad the retina MBP has a glossy screen as well. I don't like that. But anyway, feel free to share your opinions and your real-life experiences with big glossy screens.
