Pwned...
After trailing 2-1 in the series, you could say the Cleveland Cavaliers turned things around against the Chicago Bulls. LeBron James & Co. won three straight, including the clincher: Thursday night's emphatic 94-73 victory in Chicago. Then someone had a little fun on Wikipedia (to you ...

Pleased with a #Cavs sweep of Boston, but disappointed in J.R. Smith.

Very cool. I'd love to do one of these major trails - Pacific Coast, Continental Divide, Appalachian - from start to finish one day. Maybe when my boys get a little older, we can do it together.

What an amazing journey.
The change in the landscape, scenery and Davidhazy's weight and facial hair are incredible to watch.

I had been looking into a wireless music system for a while. I looked into Sonos, but the cost was pretty hefty, especially since I already had working stereos in two of the three rooms I wanted to put them in. Buying separate speakers didn't make sense, especially since they weren't of the quality I already had.

I came across the website for Beep, and I'm glad I did. I was able to purchase three Beeps and an inexpensive powered speaker for the room that didn't have a stereo, and for a fraction of the cost, I now have synchronized music throughout the house. There are a few limitations - it only works with Spotify (premium account required, I got a good introductory price on a 3-month trial) and Pandora currently, but they hope to add more services.

I've been really impressed so far. It's pretty new technology, but they seem to be working out the wrinkles pretty well, and I've already gotten several updates to the device that have increased its reliability. I've also been really impressed with their customer service. I've had a few questions, and they've all been answered quickly, and with good information. Just recently, I noticed that there was a problem with one of my power cables. I emailed the Beep team telling them about my issue, and in less than 15 minutes, I got a reply from an actual person to confirm my shipping address so they could send me a new cord. No hassles at all. Well worth the investment!

A nice gesture by a UK-based DJ to recognize the contribution that this seemingly innocuous 6-second drum break has made to music across genres. I'll include a link to one my favorite YouTube videos that introduced me to the Amen Break in the comments below.
The amen breakbeat, possibly the most famous breakbeat and sample of all time! Everyone knows it, and everyone knows where it came from, so that story does not need to be told again here. However, what is little known, is that the The Winstons have never received a single penny for its use in the...

I really enjoyed working with Google on this, and it's nice to see the positive press about our efforts. One quibble with the Mayor, it was me who did most of the hiking with that beast on my back, not Google employees. Regardless, it's nice to see these efforts come to fruition, and I hope people find some benefit from them.

Wow. Lyricism at its finest! I just listened to this album all the way through, and immediately queued it up again. I'm a little bummed that it's been out for 4 years, and I'm just finding it now. That's a lot of spins I've been missing out on...

Albuquerque has a lot of good restaurants, but precious few great ones. Elaine's is one of the great ones, and gets my vote for the best restaurant in town. I've been twice so far, and every course has been outstanding. Very creative flavor combinations without going too complex - just excellent, honest food.

Had a great stay there over Labor Day Weekend with a group of friends. Location was great, and the deal we got by reserving a block of rooms was unreal. Leading up to the visit, the staff was extremely responsive, accommodating, and helpful. This continued throughout the weekend while we were there, we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. I doubt I'd stay anywhere else for any of my upcoming trips to Denver.

I avoid this place as much as I can. Occasionally, there will be a band that I want to see enough that I'll bite the bullet and go to the Sunshine. The acoustics are terrible, and patrons are treated more like potential inmates than paying customers. A poor reflection on Albuquerque's music scene.

Dugger's is the go-to service provider for our roadside assistance club (Better World Club), and we have used them several times. Every time, the drivers arrive at or well before the estimated time given, and they are always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. While it's never fun to have to get your car towed, Dugger's makes the situation about as pleasant as possible. Highly recommended.

A great addition to Nob Hill. I've been there several times already, and each time the burger has been outstanding. I'd put it up against any burger in town. All the meat, veggies, and even the buns are locally-sourced, and really fresh. Even the beers - all 30+ on tap - are local as well. My new favorite spot.
