I'm from the government, I'm here to help.

The FBI is admitting that a mistake in the background check process allowed Dylann Roof to buy a gun.
FBI DIrector James Comey says a federal background check should have prevented the Charleston church shooter from purchasing a handgun.

Arrived in Spain to see my son and the rest of the Phoenix Boys Choir perform and discovered that they were in Portugal! We left Salamanca yesterday and they were there a week ago -- video from a local station below. Salamanca was amazing: the first University, the first Library, the first school in which music was formally studied, and the role that the environment of academic inquiry and tolerance played in making Christopher Columbus's voyage possible...

A week later, we're catching up to the boys. I still haven't spoken to J, but we ended up at the palace in Seville at the same time on separate tours. We were admonished to keep our distance. I imagine it's hard on some of the younger boys to be away from home and not have parents on tour.

The Lowest Bidder
Like many others, I am in an industry that many have likened to offering a commodity, such as gone the direction of many financial products, services, and consumer goods. Sadly the least important consumer goods such as clothing, shoes, phones, are items that people are willing to pay more for. What people do not often realize is that what you might consider a proverbial No 2 Pencil usually isn't. When you need a product or service to do what it needs to do, you may not realize, until you need it, is that the less expensive option you went with is worthless. So isn't it better to pay the right amount for the right product vs paying the least amount for the wrong one?
When was the last time you walked into a venue and said "Show me the cheapest (lawyer, doctor, car, phone, computer, shirt, medical treatment, shoes, jeans, TV, bike, purse, drill...)" and expected to see the "right" item you were looking for?

Introduction
I discovered Dennis Leary when my personality was forming, so it's all his fault.

I believe babies are inside pregnant women.  I believe people who earn something should be able to keep it.  I believe in the US Constitution.  I am a registered Republican, not that I necessarily agree with everything every Republican has ever done.

If you're a Lefty and you're going to insist on posting your political views publicly, I might just try and have a civil discussion with you about it.

Oh, and if you're an atheist, that's great.  Please, keep it to yourself.  I've never been prosthelytized to like I have by atheists...

Oh, and I dig video games, computers in general, Android, and particularly Linux.

Best dentist I've ever had. Very professional and thorough, and my wife tells me very sensitive to pain issues.

Food is great. Everything is made to order, soups included. So, they can customize everything to your taste. Family run, and it feels nice just to be there. The prices are excellent, excellent value. I eat there several times a week, I'm hooked. :-)

As my wife and I were having lunch we noticed an employee accidentally knock a stack of wax paper onto the floor. Another employee walked around and counter, picked them up, and put them back on the counter, two feet away from the garbage can, and went back about her work. When I asked her why she had put the papers on the counter for people's food to be served on she told me she planned on throwing them away. This, when the trashcan was literally two feet from where she placed them, at the end of the counter. I might not have posted this, except on a previous occasion we witnessed an employee handle food that had already been given to a customer with the same tongs she was using to serve food. The customer complained she'd been given the wrong slice of pizza, so the employee grabbed it off the customer's plate with her tongs, put it back in the display, gave her a different piece of pizza, then went back to serving other customers with the same set of tongs. We complained to the manager on duty both times. I advise caution when eating at Zpizza, as they do not appear to take safe food handling seriously.
