Training to do a dual-tow with Jan Bidstrup instructing. Not that different from regular aero-tow except for a slower climb and the fun of watching another glider release.

The chart in this short article showing how European's rate their neighbors (based on results from a Pew Research poll) absolutely cracked me up.
How European Union nations stack up in trustworthiness, arrogance and compassion, according to fellow members — views probably reflecting both longstanding stereotypes and the recent debt crisis.

Burnt Cauliflower and Goat's curd at Cumulus. This is a great dish and I've learned to make it from the chef Jamie Oliver's recipe: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetarian-recipes/roasted-cauliflower-with-cumin-coriander

Excellent coffee, equivalent to what you might find in Melbourne Australia. The milk froth was perfectly creamy and the coffee itself was delicious. Unfortunately, it's in a bit of a forlorn location in the lobby of a large building.

Using their free jQuery-based table filter I was able to build a 500 row filter into a web page after a short afternoon of work. Well done! (Do use the latest js code from their demo page, it's more up-to-date than their release code).

I chose the $29 "deluxe wash" and was very happy with the work they did. The staff were friendly and helpful; the job was finished quickly (40 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon); and the car was quite clean and shiny when they finished. May I also recommend the Ziegote cafe around the corner on Johnston as a good place to have a coffee and wait.

The service department at Ballarat Holden provided really exemplary service on a used 2009 Honda Accord that we bought from them. After purchase (but within the 3 month dealer warranty) the car exhibited overheating problems. Although the local Honda dealer could not "fault" the vehicle (reproduce and diagnose the problem), Ballarat Holden took the vehicle back and worked on it until they were able to reproduce the issue. Resolving the problem required the replacement of the radiator and thermostat. While they had our car they loaned us a brand new Holden Commodore Wagon for two weeks. After the repair was completed they returned our car to us freshly washed and vacuumed. Total cost: $0. To me this is stunningly good service and I can recommend them to others without hesitation.

Very pleasantly surprised by this quiet Thai restaurant in Derry. We had the Fried Fish Pan cake, Basil Noodle with Shrimp (Pad Khee Mao) and Special Fish Curry, all were good. They don't over-salt their dishes, which my wife really appreciated. We spent time talking to the owner (Won) and found the service to be fine. Portions are large, prices are reasonable. We'll be back.
