Haven't been on G+ in a while, but I'll spam the hell out of this if it means I can move away from Time Warner Cable.

We’re exploring bringing Fiber to Dallas. This means working with city leaders to understand local requirements and challenges – from roads and infrastructure to permits and utility paths.

It will take time to make sure we can build this network. And we’d love to keep you updated on our progress. Check your address to be among the first to know when we have more to share: g.co/fiber/dallas

Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed. All the options in DFW suck now that FiOS has gone to Frontier.

Ugh I either need to clean off my desk or get a bigger mouse pad.

If you don't have one yet, MicroCenter in Dallas has a bunch of Pi Zero's in stock today. I keep grabbing one every time they show up in stock. #winteriscoming #pizero

Someone has decided they make a better tree topper and pushed Deadpool off the top. He's been up there for two days, and if I try and take him off, he climbs right back up there.

My Christmas tree topper. Felt like a star or angel wasn't badass enough.

Haha, I can see it now: "He died for your sins... No, wait, you died for his sins... Hang on, that's not right either...Anyway, somebody sinned over here and so somebody's gotta die... Lucky me, I'm the one with all the guns!"

Someone finally got their own Iron Throne.  Jeffrey thinks Game of Thrones ends with the dragons eating the Targaryen girl and keeping the throne for themselves.  I kind of hope he's right.

I don't think I've ever been so excited for a movie.

Does anyone know if you can cast(or 3rd party solutions) to Chromecast and Chromecast audio simultaneously? Basically I want to cast Youtube music videos to a TV, then the audio through a Chromecast audio group throughout the house.

So far my googling has turned up zilch, so I'm hoping someone has a 3rd party solution.

This is the only thing holding me back from signing up for Google Play Music subscription/YouTube Red.

Chromecast Audio does what I want it to (play through multiple bluetooth speakers across the house), but I don't think Chromecast Audio and Chromecast can be grouped together to do both audio casting and video casting at the same time, which is what I'm looking for.

I don't need all the other home automation stuff, I can do all that with Raspberry Pi's.  :)

I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on home cameras(for security) like Nest because of the high price, and also because they're always missing key features.  Nest requires a subscription and doesn't allow local storage for recordings.  Logi Circle isn't much better. $200 per cam is just too steep, and I'm not sure why they cost so much.

So I got my hands on 2 Raspberry Pi's and assembled my own.  I'm pretty new at these boards.  My buddy +Brandon Dunson gave me one a while back and I've been kind of playing with it ever since, but never really done anything useful other than what he gave it to me to originally do(drawing robot).

I'm really surprised at how easy it was to get this all set up using MotionEyeOS (40 minutes tops, including assembly).

4 cameras (2 pi cameras, one USB webcam, and Galaxy Nexus). I can save recordings locally to my file server box, and all for about $130 and stuff I had lying around(USB webcam and Galaxy Nexus with messed up screen).

Now I'm happy and I can watch my cats when I'm away.  Next I want to try my hands at a dashcam for the car, since this OS would probably also work.

I've been in the same boat. None of the off the shelf products are an option for me for one reason or another. Will check this out.

Introduction
Computer geek by day, party animal/superhero by night.

I'm a SharePoint Analyst for the American Heart Association.

I like to dabble in a little bit of everything.  Computer nerd, Android fanboy, photographer, artist, and I've even been known to mash-up a song or two.  If it's electronic/technology related, I'm probably into it.

Also into zombies, camping, cars, COD, BF3, and late night taco runs.
