Anyone in the Chicago area interested in a GTDish/Productivity meetup / mindshare? I've got one proposed over on the LinkedIN group, but no restrictions on membership of course.

My thinking is

  3 September (Wednesday), about 5:30 or 6:00
South Branch Tavern and Grille (10 S Wacker, https://plus.google.com/+SouthBranchTavernGrille/about?hl=en&gl=us)

I'll make a reservation first of that week (Monday/Tuesday) if we can interest enough to form a headcount...
The Loop's South Branch caters to the hustle & bustle of Chicago. Expect delicious American contemporary cuisine, bountiful spirits & a relaxed vibe. Private events at weekends.

Every few weeks, tatertots show up in the cafeteria at work. I cannot resist. The crispness (and unhealthiness) seem to bring on a nostalgia filled blast of endorphins....

Wow. That really is a 'uh, duh' fact - that I am now happy to have in my arsenal.

Now, if only I had some tater tots on a plate in front of me....

Seems the available seats have no doubt become constrained, but I'm interested in an invite if someone still has one (esinclai@gmail)....

So invitees - is there latency between invite and invitation (presumably load balancing in the background?)

Interesting Kickstarter to present a unified view of tasks aggregated across multiple services. Some dependency on having API access to each of those services (which may be problematic in cases), but the combination of aggregation and intentionality make this an interesting project.
See all your tasks in one place, from the services you already use (like Google Tasks, GitHub, & Basecamp). Work on what matters most.

Not sure if I've seen this anywhere, but this looks like a nifty assisting hack for +Todoist...

Pretty looking (nicer than the original cover) and nice functionality in the split page - very tempting. But the price at $32 feels high for an individual (unless the premium membership is also about to go up...).

Tempting though. Will have some tricky decisions between this and some of the other new notebooks when my next purchase time comes around...
Evernote and Moleskine have partnered to make handwritten meeting notes a great experience with the new Evernote Business Notebook, available now in the Evernote Market.

It's a nice feature add, but... I'm sticking with Livescribe. Being able to go back to the audio is key for me.

I do agree on the paper and notebooks, +Eric Sinclair. And the pen was insanely large for me at first (I started with the barreled Pulse pen), but I got used to it over time. I now like their moleskine-like notebooks. Especially the unlined ones. Great for notes and drawings! :)

Affable, Chicago based quasi-geek. Interested in collaboration, shared work, literature and ongoing learning and discovery..
Introduction
I'm increasingly fascinated by the blurring of our real world neighborhoods (i.e. the delights of my own Lincoln Square, or the extended delights of Bloomington IN) and the melding with our online neighborhoods which work a-geographically and asynchronously.

It's all great stuff, and food for learning, sharing and thought.

Though a bit of a noisy room, nicely prepared sharing plates and entrees make for a lovely social dining experience. Attentive service, but structured for a leisurely evening with dinner and drinks as the intended event, not a quick bite before a movie.

Simply the best asado tacos around, but also a really nice (and a tasty char) chorizo, and great tacos al pastor. Family run, and friendly service. Not the fanciest venue, but it's the food that makes the dining experience.

Boutiquey, nicely sized rooms and great location for the PDX walking experience. Not your cheapest venue, but economical for the experience.

Some of the finest Texas style BBQ anywhere, especially PDX. Delicious and tender brisket. And what a brunch menu! Crowded, a bit out of the way, but oh-so-worth-it. Where else are you going to get a delicious smoked-trout hash, or migas?
