$50 off Fire TV when you prepay 3 months of Sling.  Not bad.  I used Sling last night to watch the NBA All Star game.  It looked great (except when my ISP was having issues and dropped my speeds to 0.7Mb/s) and I think it will be a nice supplement to our Amazon Prime/Hulu/Netflix/Chromecast solution.

LLAP indeed.  It's a sad day for most of the intelligent life on this planet.

This is what $20 worth of sushi looks like in Idaho. It's was as delicious as it was beautiful.

Some grass fed butter, coconut oil and cinnamon in your coffee makes for a killer midday kick!

Today's driving-around-on-a-sunny-Saturday jam. If you haven't heard JMSN, stop what you're doing and give this a listen. The whole album is fantastic.

Geek, husband and father surrounded by amazing friends and family. Doing my best to keep them all smiling.
Introduction
  1. I put motion sensors on half of the light switches in my house because I think it's awesome when I can light up a room just by walking into it.  My wife can do that without the motion sensors.
  2. I have the four coolest kids on the planet. Just ask anyone who knows them. I ain't lyin'.
  3. I still listen to 1990's hip hop, and just about every other type of music.  My life has a pretty diverse soundtrack, but there's always something playing. Gotta have my music.
  4. I have removed over 3 bazillion viruses from the computers of friends and family.  I have worked in I.T. for the past 18 years, so far it's been a really good gig.
  5. I was tested a few times as a kid and was told I have an I.Q. of over 160, but now at 40 years old my wife can effortlessly (and by quite a margin) beat me in a race to solve a sudoku, and I lose my keys several times a year.
  6. I still high five-myself in my head when my phone hands off to my car bluetooth and then goes back to my phone when I shut off my car.  I love gadgets and gizmos.
  7. Big fan of Google and their innovations.  Android enthusiast who's addicted to the latest ROM for my Galaxy Nexus.
  8. I cancelled my satellite and cable over a year ago and now stream all of the shows we watch at home over the Internet.
  9. I totally appreciate good photography, and wish I had the time to develop that skill.
  10. On any given Friday night you will probably find me playing Call of Duty on the Xbox until 2AM with my kids and a bunch of guys my age, and loving it.
  11. My wife and I volunteer about 10 hours per week in our church, and it's been one of my most rewarding ventures.
  12. I worked for a farmer detassling corn for 2 months in the summer between 7th and 8th grade so I could buy a Commodore 64 computer, which was AWESOME!
  13. I can vmotion stuff.
  14. I once dug a hole big enough to fit a VW Bug in my back yard with the help of several neighbor kids because my mom told me that if I wanted a swimming pool that I'd have to dig the hole.  ( I was never allowed to fill it with water though.)
  15. My first car was a 1972 Toyota Celica Coupe, that I paid $650 for my senior year of high school.  It had eight speakers inside, and a pre-amp mounted under the glove box with 50,000 LEDs on it that would bounce to the beat of the music, ranging from Beastie Boys to Def Leppard to Depeche Mode and everything in between.
  16. I can play the piano.
  17. I used to buy comic books all the time in the late 70s and early 80s, mostly The Avengers and Superman, and Archie comics, but I have no idea where they are now.  I'd love to give those to my kids.
  18. I love Boston, the town, and the Red Sox.
  19. I hate the Yankees.

Every time I travel I realize how lucky we are to have such a fantastic airport in Boise. Very accessible parking and check-in, with a open and welcome atmosphere. It has that small-airport feel with a quick and easy security process. The employees have that Friendly-Idahoan persona for the most part, which is always refreshing after going through bigger airports on a trip. Free wifi, too!

Awesome local bike shop! Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. They seem eager to please and are a great source of cycling advice. I had a broken spoke on my bike and they were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule and got if fixed for me in a couple of hours! And, their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and some of the best sushi I've had in the valley. Sushi buffet is a bargain! Highly recommended! Update: Last few times I went the wait staff is very slow to notice that we're out of drinks, or more importantly, that we need more sushi when we've purchased the All-You-Can-Eat buffet.

Best Thai food in the valley! It's got that family-restaurant welcome feel and the service is outstanding. Noi and Chef Pong are fantastic and have really hit a home-run with this much needed addition to the Nampa food scene!

I was in town for a convention at the nearby International Golf Course and found this place after a Google Places search recommended it. Wow, what a gem of a restaurant! The owner talked to us like we were long-time friends, and we got to hear great stories about his family and how he got started in the restaurant business. Wonderful friendly people work there, and the food is outstanding. Especially fun to go while a Red Sox game is on the television just to hear the commentary from the staff about the game. Fantastic experience, wish it weren't thousands of miles from my home town. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area!
