I don't know who had the genius idea—and courage—to stick this post-it on their fridge door but, as evil as it may seem for kids all around the world, it's the best parenting tip I've ever seen on this age of underage internet junkies. More »

A reader writes: The cars and the parking lot look European. The mountain and the foliage look tropical. I suppose SE Asia isn't out of the question. I'm thinking Oceania because the photo immediately reminded me of the two weeks I spent in Noumea, New Caledonia for work a few years ago. Not many tall buildings there, except for some hotels by the beach. If I'm right about Noumea, then the most likely building is the Gaston Bourret Hospital, 7 A...

If you’re a psychologist, the news has to make you a little nervous—particularly if you’re a psychologist who published an article in 2008 in any of these three journals: Psychological Science, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, or the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition. Because, if you did, someone is going to check your work. A group of researchers have already begun what they’ve dubbed the Reprod...

I only realized recently that I am not the only one likes watching the Delta safety videos featuring flight attendant Katherine Lee, who goes by Deltalina on the internet. I do not, of course, actually listen to the safety instructions in the video. I just watch, mostly for the finger wag. I was surprised to learn that Katherine is an actual Delta flight attendant; I had assumed she was an actress hired solely to make the video, which I suppose i...

They’ve ruined it, here is the critique (via Brad DeLong). I love Google products, but will they fix it? How long should I give them? If they don’t fix it, to which reader should I switch and tell all loyal MR readers to switch to? Google, why did you wreck it so?
