Pretty much. There are some things I still prefer the old way of doing. Handwriting notes, for example, helps with retention.

★ VisuAlgo ‒ Visualising Data Structures and Algorithms through Animation ★

VisuAlgo homepage
http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~stevenha/visualization/index.html

«VisuAlgo was conceptualised in 2011 by Dr Steven Halim as a tool to help his students better understand data structures and algorithms (...) Together with some of his students from the National University of Singapore (...) a series of visualisations were developed and consolidated (...) Though specifically designed for the use of NUS students (...) we hope that curious minds around the world will find these visualisations useful as well.»

What Shakespeare Sounded Like to Shakespeare: Reconstructing the Bard’s Original Pronunciation. http://goo.gl/yrfoI6
What did Shakespeare's English sound like to Shakespeare? To his audience? And how can we know such a thing as the phonetic character of the language spoken 400 years ago? These questions and more are addressed in the video above, which profiles a very popular experiment at London's Globe ...

I really wish I had more time to read.

These days, designing compelling web apps and sites that load quickly, look beautiful, and are intuitive requires keeping up with lots of ever-evolving best practices. To make things easier for web designers and developers, we've been gathering and documenting our learnings over at Google Web Fundamentals. Our latest update to the site includes some great material for web designers: Principles of Site Design and Animations.

Principles of Site Design includes an invaluable collection of insights gained from user research, such as how to provide intuitive navigation, when and how to "upsell" to your apps, and streamlining user journeys.

Animations give much-needed personality to your projects—but what should you animate, when should you animate it, and how? Getting animations just right is key to your users' experience. Covering everything from easing to performance, these guides give you the knowledge and insight to level up your next project.

Have a great resource on mobile web design you'd like to share? Let us know in the comments!

Guidelines. Not mandates.
Strategic principles and shared ethics should keep everyone moving in the right direction.

I’ve always thought that today’s businesses should be built on a strong set of strategic principles. Rigid MBA-style top down plans don’t work in today’s environment. It’s okay to have a plan, but you should understand it will change as you discover new things about the products and your market.

In my experience, if you give people a strong set of strategic principles and the freedom to build on them, they can do great things. #howgoogleworks
