The Sask. government has adopted Lean as a foundation for continuous improvement, including a Lean approach to strategic planning for our provincial health system (44,000 employees following a single vision, with short- and long-term priorities agreed upon by all participating organizations).
Channeling the funding, staff and other resources of the health system to focus on patient-centred care has been an impressive undertaking. In the two videos on this web page, former Deputy Minister of Health Dan Florizone talks about the work that has gone into transforming health care, and how the Lean wave is washing over all parts of our government.
He's an inspirational leader with a lot of heart. He has moved on to the education portfolio and is also the leader of Lean adoption across government.
