So the strategy of killing Venger's stupid bullshit with seeming earnest acceptance didn't stop his lousy shit at all. What it did do was deeply hurt at least one trans woman (not me). I could see what the (unwise) attempt was about; she just rightly saw allies betraying her. I wasn't in a place to effectively communicate via anything but viciousness, or I might've addressed it at the time.

in the future please don't respond to "hur, hur my gender is attack helicopter" nonsense with anything but like derision

Apparently, Contessa was going to benefit from the current Bundle of Fate that's being offered by Bundle of Holding. That changed because Evil Hat has some "bad blood" against Contessa.

Evil Hat's doing all they can to live up to their name.

Resharing this for those who didn't see it back in the day.
NEW FEIERLAND UPDATE

Trumpet was an adorable old donkey. She was in the employ of the (only) Tinker in New Feierland, Pulling his cart to and fro... but then the poor Tinker was murdered (leaving New Feierland, it's outlying farms and the Blightberry Mines without the services of said Tinker)...

Trumpet spent a week or two mourning in the tavern's stable. She was so sad! She missed the Old Tinker, who was so nice and friendly to her. She missed pulling his cart and eating his vegetables. She knew where to walk so well! She loved to walk forward and whinny at the Tinker, and then he went away and now she didn't get to walk so much. She cried at night, but no-one noticed because Trumpet was just a poor old donkey.

She was sad for so long, until a group of plucky adventurers took her from there and led her on an adventure again! She was so happy!!!! =D Outside, walking and stuff... walking past people and getting fed pieces of old vegetables by super friendly strangers... Yaaaaaay!

And then you took her into a mean, evil forest. She didn't like that. Then you guys were all "GET IN THIS TUNNEL, TRUMPET" and Trumpet was all "No no, please no! I do not like tunnels! I like walking and pulling carts and being fed vegetables by all of my friends!!".

But you insisted. You held her fast and pushed her into the tunnel. But she did not fit in the tunnel. She was sad and scared and confused and very very sad! She worried because she could not go either forward or backward... she particularly loved walking forward, especially with a cart behind her! She was very good at walking forward. She had sometimes walked backward as well, because she was a smart and talented Donkey. But now Trumpet was stuck! She could go neither forward nor backward!! Oh noes!! Trumpet started to cry, but nobody noticed because Trumpet was neglected and ignored. She was a very scared and confused and sad donkey, and she missed the Old Tinker. She didn't like this tunnel or the new people.

She also didn't like it when the skeletons ate their way through her, from rump to snout, to get at you guys. She was so sad and scared. She couldn't walk forwards or even backwards and all she wanted to do was help and be a good friendly Donkey. There was a lot of pain and she didn't understand why the people were so mean. She wanted the skeletons to stop doing things to her, but they didn't. They reached inside her and started taking things out. They didn't care how much it hurt or how scared or sad she was. They just kept clawing and grabbing and taking things out. They were silent and frightening and cruel. Then the skeletons were inside her and she didn't understand what she had done wrong. She just wanted to pull a cart =[

Then she was asleep.

With the imminent end of G+, I decided to save the gameable content I posted there:

MeWe changed their FAQ when I brought up some questionable and contradictory language. Jason is their EVP Product Director and has been engaging a bit with the G+ refugee community:

ME: They aren't addressing the ugly contradiction in the FAQ: https://mewe.com/faq "At MeWe we have absolutely no political agenda" " Capitalism was never intended to be a system for spying on people – that’s communism and CREEPY." If you have an economic system where the ethical justifications are mostly utilitarian, don't be surprised when someone invents a profitable Panopticon.

One day late for Review Day, and this is more of a plug, but hey.

So my current video game obsession is on a deep Steam discount: http://store.steampowered.com/app/305620/The_Long_Dark/

Here's why you should buy it: https://killscreen.com/articles/long-dark-legacy-canadian-literature/ Note that the screenshots are out of date, the game looks better now.
