Exciting news! 4 eco-toilets are being built at Kapita Primary School to address chronic sanitation issues. These two composting toilets and two urinals will hygienically add nutrients into the school's permaculture food garden. Further to this, a rainwater harvesting system is being installed on the school roof. A school meal program has commenced using organic produce from the garden is set to expand in June. This is all part of a community-led initiative to improve nutrition, sanitation and education outcomes.

Our Project Coordinator Bright Msuku took this picture of the expanded #permaculture garden at Kapita Primary School in #Malawi. Isn't it beautiful? Our permaculture consultant has worked with the local committee to intercrop organic maize (corn) and beans. This will contribute towards a school-run meal program that is expected to be fully operational by May/June this year! #sustainability

Our Exective Director in #Malawi, Jones Ntaukira, presenting staff and children at Kapita Primary School with a laptop, projector and tablets with Wikipedia and educational software.

#Technology can play a vital role in helping #rural schools like this (over 400 kids) gain exposure to the wider world and nuture their hunger for knowledge.

True to our values, we tend to crowdsource second hand machines and give them a new lease of life by gifting them to schools and #community cooperatives in our partner communities. Re-use trumps recycling!
