I'm not sure if a greater tribute to a person's character than this can exist.

We shall miss you ever so much, Alan.
Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people I've ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. I'm pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London and New York. He didn't have to do that. I know other people who've been friends with him for much much longer than I have and they all say "if you call Alan, it doesn't matter where in the world he is or how busy he is with what he's doing, he'll get back to you within a day".

People create perceptions of actors based on the parts they played so it might surprise some people to learn that contrary to some of the sterner(or downright scary) characters he played, Alan was extremely kind, generous, self-deprecating and funny. And certain things obviously became even funnier when delivered in his unmistakable double-bass.

As an actor he was one of the first of the adults on Potter to treat me like a peer rather than a child. Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career. Film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man.

Today I'm busting out the real talk about what it's like to get multiple offers of representation from literary agents, and how catching that unicorn is actually really scary. And made me eat a lot of McDonald's.

I have to flail a bit because over two weeks in, STORM IN A TEACUP is hovering between 10-15K in the Amazon rankings and selling really steadily. When I made the decision to put this book out myself, I had no idea what to expect, and the response to the book has been just...tremendously wonderful.

Thank you, to everyone who has been so supportive and who has shared the link to the book or posted a review or rating of it on Goodreads or anywhere. I really cannot tell you how much it means to me to see people responding like this to Ayala and her story. I can't wait to move onward with her.

Ayala Storme lives! Monsters, mayhem, ass-kicking, and....bunnies.

I am excite!

Mediator Ayala Storme kills demons by night and handles PR by day. She avoids Mediator luncheons and a fellow Mediator who’s been trying to get in her pants for years. She does her job. She keeps her sword clean and her body count high.

But when a rash of disappearances leads her to discover that Nashville’s hellkin are spawning a new race of monster on human hosts, Ayala will be the first line of defense against these day-walking killers.

That is, until one of them saves her life.

Dodging the Mediators and the demons alike, Ayala’s new knowledge of the hybrids’ free will challenges everything she’s ever known about her job. Racing the clock and trying to outrun her comrades and enemies alike, she’s not sure who will catch her first…
